Simply stunning, mind blowing!! Sounds like finally RR wants the number game for them as this 2.5Cr model will attract large no. of people across the world compare to the Phantom.

RR Ghost is definitely for those who want to drive their RR, for younger generation billionaires and of course for those who can not afford 1cr more for their dream car!!

how i wish now that they come down from wonder land britain and offer it to all those who can afford it as well, with only select models like the phantom for their 'selective babugiri'..
Policy of 'Selected customers only' is gone with the Raj. Current selection criteria would be anybody who can produce a bank draft of 2.5 crores. So please go ahead and book one. (Just remember 'poor me' and give me a ride in your Ghost )

Very true. I used to see a Phantom crawling on the congested road in front of my house at Noida. I think it belonged to the HCL Boss, Shiv Nadar. But now it has stopped coming as some stupid rickshaw, auto, bike or car owner might have nicked or scratched it.

Even I am terrified while commuting with my 'small car Alltis'.

regarding driving of this car in Indian traffic.
if a person can afford this baby then definitely he can afford a 2 vehicle escort (one in the front and another in the back)with armed body guards to shoo off people from your way

This is definitely going to walk over the bentley mulsanne.Definitely.Truly amazing vehicle.
RR are at the top of the game yet again(just when I thought they lost it to bentley).
RRs and Bentleys do not play in the same space. Bentley became badge engineered RRs because Bentley was acquired by the RR management in 1933 odd and its own development plans were frozen. So there is a tendency to club the two together.

Bentleys are known to be sporting cars, luxury grand tourers. RRs do not have and never had sporty qualities. Neither did they aspire to it.

IMO, RR plays in the space ( not necessarily the same price range) as the Benz S class, the Maybach Zeppelin, the BMW 7 series and possibly the Maserati Quattroporte. The Bentleys do not play here.

Regards

, Sometimes even this is overlooked. Two cars have been booked by someone i know and his cars would arrive along with the Display car in Bombay. If i remember right in December or January, forgot when now.

I know of Rolls Royce owners who drive just the opposite. I would not drive my Corrola the way they drive the Phantom .

Tragic that the RR and some other marques which play in that space have become a byword for exhibitionistic excess - very crass, very obscene.
I see no difference in the exterior appeal of a present day Roller with that of a Cadillac.

Bentley seems a lot better in trying to stay aligned to its image of a sporting GT (a GT would be sporting, isn't it?), Maserati too.

Go one level down and if you see the S Class, the 7 Series and the 8 Series, it is the BMW that seems the one with the most understated appeal - surprising after the excitement generated by the Bangle effect). The Audi with its bejewelled daytime running lights look has started to look pretentious.

Regards

The Ghost is mean looking and interiors are classy. But i just feel that at such cost, the rear seats should have been recliners just like maybach, to give atmost comfort.

Sadly having lots of money does not automatically mean taste, class and careful attitude and money cant buy these things. Glaring example is of somebody (or some company) having bought a Phantom to sell mobiles.

In addition to what I have written above, It is some owners who are crass so the fault does not lie with cars .

Taste seem to have vanished from designs also

Lovely car. Current level India is the wrong place if one wants to really enjoy driving such a car. Here it is merely a status symbol which proclaims the financial well-being of the owner. (Not to be confused with a symbol of class since most of the fellows who have the financial wherewithal to own such a car do not automatically have the class to go with it.)

Is your friend booking it in Jan or is taking delivery in Jan? I hope you realise it is not an off the shelf car my friend. My friend had booked both his when they announced the cars and had a preview for it in Singapore, not that he went for it being invited. His cars are the first ones in India and they come along with the Display Ghost.

Add two more to the list for left and right side of the car because two wheelers are the once who can put a scratch on sides of the car.
The best car would be Nano and they need two Nano to cover one side(no offense to Nano lovers)

A lot of people are making the claims of the 'first ghost' (even though i'm not doubting your friend). I heard the response was overwhelming the other night, with people stretching out 50 lakh cheques on the spot pressuring for the first car.. Didn't go for the launch but I saw your friends FS parked in VV the other day...
