Good to see X1 and great to know it will be sold as good VFM stuff.I think fortuners aspirants should buy a MM540 at this time. And earn few more lakhs and by the end of year can buy an X1 then.Thats what my cunning plan going to be.Any idea about the price tag for Gran turismo thing.

Thanks GTO. Seems like they put up a stall just for the sake of it.

Any talk of the 320d corporate edition at the expo? With that kind of pricing, they should have gone to town about it. Very interested in that car. Having owned a fully loaded 325i earlier, i do not care about the frills as I know how much I will use them. Its the engine and ride that solely matter!

X1 will not exceed the ex-showroom cost of 25L (approx). It will be one of the nicest cars to buy for India if one does not have the need for a jumbo sized SUV. 35L+ will be the new X3 which will make its debut in the second half of 2010.

P.S Any update on the BMW F10 (5)?

At 25 Lakh and a diesel engine X1 is surely going to set the sales chart on fire.

I hope they at-least provide some of the bells and whistles on the X1 like Xenons, etc.. unlike the base 320d when launched in India initially.

ecclipse78, Considering the X1 with the 2.0 D engine costs 27,226 Euros and the 320D 28,655 Euros that gives BMW India enough gap to ensure the X1 is pretty well equipped if it has to be priced at 25L ex-showroom.

My ideal India spec car would be the

X1 sdrive20d

Leather Seats / Design cool elegance package / Climate control / sports steering wheel with audio controls / Hi-Fi sound system with CD and ipod connector and a rear view camera for the cool factor.

I think that should be enough but the X1 has some very stylish wheels as options which I think BMW India should offer as the X1 has some very very amazing alloys. I'm pretty sure they can do the above with the 24-25L price range. I think it would be one of the best daily drivers in the market.

IMO the X1 is the most exciting new launch by BMW. If they can manage sub - 3 Series pricing i.e. - nothing like it !!
