Year on year figures better for Maruti in June 2010, but lower than the record numbers in May 2010. Perhaps some of the price increases and the rollback of the excise tax are beginning to hurt.

Great to see Cruze sales at 773 units in a month. But, strangely sightings on roads are not much.

Anybody knows sales figures for Civic/Altis/Laura

Lets see if Cruze has really made a dent into them or things havent changed much.

1-Lakh discount in June? I checked out a Fiat dealership a couple of weeks back and the SP said that a discount of about 20K-25K is provided by the manufacturer on the Punto and the Linea. A 1-Lakh discount is unreal for a Punto.

MUMBAI: Car-maker Ford India, today reported a 267 per cent jump in its sales to 7,269 units in June as compared to 1,982 units in the same period last year on the back of a good response for its Figo.

"Success was driven mainly by the popularity of the Figo. We will continue to focus on our customers needs so that they will feel the Ford difference with our products and services," Ford India's President and Managing Director, Michael Boneham, said in a statement.

The company has sold 22,858 units from April-June this year, as compared to 6,184 units in the same period last year.

"This is a phenomenal feat with our March to June sales figures alone exceeding the entire sales volume for 2009," Boneham, said.

"We will begin our second production shift this month in order to step up production to meet the demands that we have created," Boneham added.

The company sells its Ikon, Endeavour, Fiesta and Figo in Indian market. It has more than 167 dealership outlets across 97 cities in India.

Unbelievable, I am sure Maruti and eevryone else is surprised by Ford's success, since apart from Figo ford has just two more relevent cars , endeavour and Fiesta.
Ikon is a damn old and Fusion is defunct anyways.

Looks like General is Selling solid few numbers of cars and the effect of new launches of WagonR and Figo is petering out. Beat is getting back to better numbers while Cruze is still doing great. Waiting to see the Altis, Skoda and Honda numbers to see how good Cruze sales have been.

I am really impressed by Figo's sales performance over a period of 4 months. Looks like the sales momentum is continuing. Which is fastest car to reach 50000 and l lakh in sales in India till now?

FIAT has some real soul searching to do now. I sincerely believe that if FORD could come up with such a performance despite being handicapped by images of costly A.S.S FIAT also should be able to do much much better. I hope the FIAT numbers are good this month atleast.

I would think that could be either of Maruti Swift or Hyundai i10.... And on the second line for Fiat, I would include "General Motors" for the comparison. What a comeback after being put to Backfoot for more than a year. Fiat could learn a few things from them.
