hey guys im new to this forum. Ive been to shimla-sangla-kaza-rohtang route twice and once to leh on my uncle's x-trail. it was awesome.
i dont think we are going to participate (me and my uncle) he's not that old and a real adventure person. x- trail i think is too delicate for the rally. and of course we are too close to the closing date too. but you guys have fun .

the routes gr8!!!

Aman: If people could do it in a M800 or WagonR, you surely can do it in an X-Trail. In fact there were quite a few (3-4, if I remember correctly) CRV's at the Raid last year and all finished the raid except the one which had low-profile Pirelli's. What were they thinking?

Also the entries just started. In fact, the early bird entries aren't closed yet (till 31st May). You can enter as late as 21st September.

amannarwal: You don't need to worry about any documentation for now. Just make sure that the draft with the requisite fee amount reaches the Raid office by May 31st. You can complete your documentation formalities comfortably after that. You can even deposit the fee in their ICICI Bank account (details on the website) at any ICICI Bank Branch and fax them the receipt.

Interested In Participating

Hi Friends,
Sorry to start the topic all over again.
I am interested in participating in this year's raid in adventure trail. Can I take my 1 year Old Baleno Vxi with stock tyres (15"), stock suspension (Rasied 1" using spacers), Alloy wheels etc. Am I going to beak the car (damage) by ralling in this? Do I need to do any modifications? or else should I take hold of some old esteem or gypsy (which is of great demand in Bangalore).

Please also advise me as do we require aditional tripmeter. Can this me a regular analog one or is Terratrip advisible. If so how much does it cost and where is it available in bangalore.

Please suggest me what should I do. I am badly in need of your suggesion. If any one of you from Bangalore have participated in adventure trail in the previous raids please give me your contact Nos. so that I can talk to you in person.

Please reply.

Cheers...

Hi Nagaraj, there won't be a problem in taking your Baleno to the Raid. Its a sturdy car and can take the brunt provided you stay with-in limits (both yours and the car's). No modification is compulsory, however if you have the moolah, splurge on it. A Gypsy is the best car for the Raid but getting one in a reasonable shape is a daunting task (MPFI version).

I am not sure that Terratrip is allowed, it is not mandatory to have an additional tripmeter (whether analog or different).

Contact Raid office, speak to Sanjay at 098160-45234. They will help you get stuff together and tell you the requirements.

Better hurry up, as there are not many slots left in any category on the Raid 2007.

All the raiders must be busy preparing for it..

On a serious note, I am not sure we have anyone this year from the forum participating in the raid.

Well technically you can, if you hold a valid DL. Not to pour cold water on your spirits, but think about it man. You have to be really confident about yourself and the car to even think about attempting it. The Raid is really a big test of both the man and machine's endurance (yes, even in the Adventure Trial). The early entries are open till the end of this month, so hurry up if you want to save up on some serious moolah! Happy Raiding!!
