Gogiji, what was the reason to put in all that stuff is a long story. To cut it short, there were some mistakes made that lead to such a build. Some errors made while purchasing the forged parts and these errors grew big by the time the build was done. Since we hardly had anytime to check the car as we were way behind schedule we just left to Bombay as it is.

Adman, like I mentioned earlier one cannot compare two cars with different levels of tune and specially when they ran a year apart and decide what mods did to each car. A lot of factors contribute to these times, some of which are not even car/engine related on a given day. I agree 16.6 for a almost stock baleno is very good timing, but suppose I had run my car this time around it might have clocked a late 15s I am guessing. But that we will never know. It would be me just mere speculating.

Yes, thats exactly what happened. In an effort to up the CR few things went wrong that ended up in having pistons above deck height.

Infact, car is now running on stock rods, crank and pistons. Only reason to put in the forged internals was to maybe go nitrous, but decided against it in the end and ended up with a high comp build for SR 07.

IIRC, all problems started a day before the practice run. My radiator fan conked out, engine overheated, I didn't realize, and I think it was either veyron or ported (??) in the car when we went for a trial run and the car just shut off and refused to start back on. After cooling the car for 10mins we drove it back (refused to revv over 3k) to where the rest of the Bhpians were and figured that the fan was not working and the water temperature needle had hit way above the red mark (and few of them almost ended up having burnt faces when hot coolent from the radiator whizzed out). I think thats when the troubles started, that coupled with adulterated 97Oct fuel we filled finally gave way sometime during the practice run. But these are not excuses enough for not meeting the timings (high 15s) we had aimed at.

. I don't even understand why this topic of stroker kit, categories, protests came in the first place. If adman tried to say that a baleno with just air filter and headers clocked a 16.6 we must appreciate that and get on with it.
