Now, that would really be something Ronny! Tell you what, if the FCCCI confirms its participation, I'll try participating in a very special Fiat myself

Re: Charitable Drive : The 2011 Blind Man Car Rally (Mumbai). On Sunday, 6th February

Hey GTO,

Is it mandatory that only Mumbai residents have to be part of it? I can also drive down from Pune for the event. I have been a Mumbaikar all my life its only for the last 4.5 years have shifted base to Pune. I think i still remember the roads in Mumbai

Cheers,
Amit

Not at all. Even Vikram18 & Swale 84 are driving down from Pune. PM them and co-ordinate.

Flag off starts at 0800 hours and is spread across an hour with so many cars. In '09, we had about 8 - 10 checkpoints spread across town. Only your visually-impaired navigator can read the route out to you. Sample instructions would read : Left after 4.4 kms, then straight for 1 km, then u-turn at..... The roads don't have much traffic on Sunday morning, yet you can be penalised for arriving too early at the designated checkpoints. Best to drive at a regular pace. IIRC, we had driven from Worli Sea Face to Walkeshwar, then Marine Drive, Ballard Estate, back road to Parel, then to the Mumbai University area in Santacruz East. Expect about 40 kms of driving in total.

Did you check out FlyingSpur's report of the 2009 event? Linky
