I still dont believe my timing was a dismal 04:21.89!! Has to be lower, but, with manual timing[stop watch] this is expected, I did slow down when i realised the wrong lane and maybe lost 30 seconds. And if Sanket did 03:20:.. in a gypsy[averaging 55kmph+] I can guarantee errors!

My Good Wishes and am always there for youll and the Cause!
Kudos to Pradeep and Nilay, they doing it with Passion!
Friends at Tbhp need to see the place and participate to know what the track is all about. Offcourse the Tarmac needs to come up for me to drive my precious cars!

Re: Autocross / Motocross on 4th & 5th Feb, 2011 at AutoMission (Khopoli)

No doubt about the Errors, although with stop watches (which were what decided the fate of Himalayan RALLY CHAMPIONSHIPS), the error usually us around splits of a second and we had 2 stop watches running per car. Most time difference between the 2 stop watches used was hardly 100th of a second. The only explanation, besides the error on our marshal's part (to not block the access road), was the available light. Sanket did have a quicker run because he still had some natural light atleast during the start of his run. Although by the time he completed his lap, it was fairly dark. He also had a pre-run in the earlier class (4X4 upto 1300cc), so he was already familiar with the braking points.

Obviously all the errors that we learnt from this event will surely be put to question before our next event and will be worked out. As this was a huge learning experience for all of us.

The automatic timing systems which we had planned for this event, unfortunately didnt work on dirt, so we have already ordered a specialised dirt timers. Which will be ready in time for our next event.

And regarding our Passion behind the project, that is very visible with the efforts we've put in, in the last few months. We have been short handed, especially with sponsorships. But that's not the case anymore and that's how and why we can promise to grow bigger in the coming months with great support to us from a lot of people..

Hopefully next time, we'll have a better show-up from Tbhp members also..
