Check this and I'm sure you will think so too. And the Camry has been a utility car for ages in the US, why would they tone it down now?

That one definitely looks better. As someone once told, Toyota really doesn't know how to handle its upgrades... lolz. Look at the Fortuner mid life upgrade too, it's heading in the same direction with those hideous blue meters.

Very true. Actually their new cars are always like a facelift of the existing model. Which is not really a bad thing, expect for this case. Here, from some angles the Camry seems to have a bit of Etios influence (or a bit of Subaru?). The current one looks much more upmarket.

As usual, the central theme of Camry has not changed much in the last 8-9 years. But what do you expect Toyota to do? It is their bread winner model, so not much tweaks can be expected in these trying times. The interiors looked nice, must be an easy and comfy car to drive around. Overall, a package, that will displease few and win a few hearts, perhaps.

Toyota Ukraine has unveiled some new pics of the 2012 Camry. The front and rear looks different from the US version.







The front grille has more fins and chrome loaded into it.




Side profile seems similar to the US version.




Tail lights are more fuller and are connected with a chrome strip in the middle.












Cabin has a dark grey finish, with lots of glossy faux wood inside.










Very deep and spacious boot.




The official brochure shows two engine options - a 2.5L and a 3.5L, 5 variants and 8 color choices to choose from.

Rest I could not decipher.

The 2012 Camry has been launched in Japan. It is the JDM Hybrid version based on the "Aurion" design posted earlier on the Toyota Ukraine site.

Some interesting aerodynamic features have been added by Toyota to the body of the Camry Hybrid, such as the “vortex generators” (shown in the second last pic) which is integrated into the wing mirror mounts, designed to help with cruising aerodynamics.

whoa, thats an awesome set of pictures, also one thing that honda should learn from apple is how to sue people. This surely looks like a rip off from the honda accord. Did toyota hire the honda design team or did they just lack imagination?!

I wish they corrected their Steering wheel issue in this model. The steering wheel pulls towards left side when you are driving at more than 60 MPH. This was the only reason which made be to buy a Accord instead of Camry.

The 2012 Toyota Camry has pretty decent looks compared to an earlier generation that has a 'box'-like appearance with small tail lights (2005). The front is an improvement over the existing model too.

In the GCC, the Toyota Camry has the white AC knobs that didn't quite seem very appealing. I drove one when my car went in for accident repairs. It is popular as a taxi in the GCC and you can find cars with over 250,000km on the odometer. The Avalon and Aurion sold under the Toyota brand are the premium sedan models and if you have a desire for more, you buy a Lexus (starts with the IS, mid-range ES & GS, and top-end LS; there are the IS sports variants as well and are popular for mods).

BTW, the older Toyota Avalons (the ones introduced in 2000) were as long as the Lexus LS but the newer ones are shorter.

I don't know what issue are you talking about? I own 2009 Camry and doesn't have any such issue.

The steering wheel looks completely new and unorthodox. The speedometer looks fresh and so does the dash! The exteriors seems to be a step back from its outgoing design, but the interiors make up for it.
