500L is out with 5 doors now, FIAT has created a countryman version of their niche product. Its looks similar too, pillars remind me of Panda. Its longer, wider and taller than punto, could be a true premium hatchback with utility. I like what i see.

without the lower headlamp, the overall design comes well together. Better than mini countryman that it seems to have taken inspiration from.

Any idea of engine specs. 1.3 MJD again?

There will be multi/twinair and MJD, not sure if it is 1.3. I guess there will be an Abarth version too .

Nice. The front 3Q looks better than the rear 3Q though. Hope to see it on the road soon. Doubt it will ever to released in India though

I don't feel that this resembles the iconic 500 in any way. FIAT is just trying to imitate what BMW to its Mini.

On another note, it looks like the previous gen Swift from side-rear angle.

This is what I was trying to convey in the previous post. Like M&M added those extra grills in the bonnet to an otherwise clean XUV5OO design, I just don't understand why they added those hideous dual headlamps to spoil an otherwise beautiful design.

Remove those headlamps - and i love what i see.

@FIAT: If you are reading - simple and elegant designs with a genuine Italian flair - thats what you are known for. Please dont try to bring in quirky elements. Leave them to the japs & koreans who do them better.

First it was mini, literally losing its name 'mini' in the process now its 500.

We must keep something in the world the way it is. Also they are forgetting why this cars were built in the first place. They are the revival version of the classics.

In recent time many newer version of old car has been disappointing.

I must congratulate Suzuki on this, with new Swift they have achieved that. Its a small philosophy, how do you make it better 'You don't tinker much'. Same can't be said about their Zen.

Hyundai is also in a better evolutionary path.

Well, even the tail lamps are very similar IMO. See the above picture to understand what I am try to say.

The car doesn't have the same retro feel of the 500. See the Mini range, all the cars have the retro DNA and look unique. I'm a fan of the 500 maybe not for the 500L :(

There is a slight resemblance on the rear and taillights, but i wont say for the 3quarter.

With the so much glass area, the all around visibility would be awesome. A pillar is of little questionable design though.

Well thats a nice car, sure looks more practical to me than the two door one. It does loose its iconic status with the addition of the two doors, but looks good.
The backlight seems to nicely gel in the new design. I think with economies shrinking, even luxury car buyers might like to get a bit practical. Of course the 'Mini' retains the top slot.

For sure those extra headlights (fog lights) need to go. Yeti flonks them better, not a Fiat 500L.

No more a Fiat 500!! I mean 500 is a lifestyle vehicle and this one is far from that.
It looks like more of Fiat Panda with bits and pieces of 500 with a quirky quarter glass.

I may accept it as another Fiat, but not with iconic 500 badge.

But those headlamps and front air dam with integrated fog lamps are the only design elements in the L that can be associated with the original 500.Without them it would have just looked like a refurbished Panda.But again they fail to re- create the charm of the 500,all that character has been lost IMHO.
