what is sad is the gumball officials tried to do a cover up of the accident, many of the celebs quit the race and almost all sponsors withdrew their sponsorship because of the cover up.

I know this news is a little old (May 2007) but worth mentioning.
Tragedy put a stop to the Gumball 3000 (2007) and end of the life of a Macedonian driver Vladimir Cepuljoski (67) and seriously injuring his wife.Nicholas Morley (30), the driver of the Porsche, collided with a Golf driven by late Vladimir Cepuljoski. Apparently, Morley and his co-driver left the accident scene by getting into another car but they were caught by FYROM police.
