wow, what a stunner. If 1.8TSI @ 180ps can make it more affordable than with a 2.0TSI, then I am more than happy to get the 1.8TSI!

I'll probably be buying a car later this year, wonder how long it would take for the vRS to get here ?

Usually what I've seen so far in India, the Petrol Octavias are launched in India mid way thru the lifecycle. So unless Skoda has drastically changed their product launch strategy(I hope), I would expect this to be here earliest in end 2014, early 2015.

And 1.8T making 180HP isnt much... I've owned Stock Evos making 274-299BHP out of a 2.0T.

Drool material. This RS looks hot - those alloys, those smoked headlamps, those DRLs and everything else stands true to the RS DNA. I agree with GTO 160ps is also good enough, the question is when?

Boosting the output to more hp will not be that big a deal, but then it comes at the cost of reliability and maintenance. Skoda already has enough of a problem with reputation of expensive maintenance and it would serve them well to keep the engines in a more comfortable operating environment so that they don't have many niggles.

Good to see Skoda go back to the Mk1 kind of styling; the Mk2 RS looks odd, a little too rounded (if i may say so) for my liking.

Just hope Skoda launch this along with the initial models; that said, any scoop on when this could be launched in India?

As per my sources, India launch in Aug 2013, as Octavia. Laura to continue till 2015. VRS most likely expected in 2014 end. Petrol skodas don't sell much, so they are in no hurry.

Now that's a looker!! Everything just looks perfect bout the car. Even the colour seems to go well!! Skodas never really appealed me but this one has really got me drooling. Poor man's RS5

Found some Octavia Combi RS (the estate version) spy shots. The estate version of course is highly unlikely to come to India given the complete lack of demand for estate cars in our country.

Notice the yummy twin exhaust pipes... ala Kizashi.

The new vRS is expecting it to be powered by a 2.0L turbocharged engine producing 220 PS of power that is going to power the upcoming Golf GTI.

Wow! that looks super cool! was considering a used laura vrs for next year but looks like that's out the window. I want this! A 2014 launch date will work out fine by me. Really hope they offer the blacked out headlights with matte black alloys. My complaints with the current laura was always the looks but this takes care of that gripe!

Skoda VRs is expected in Dubai, UAE and will be positioned just below Jetta.

Its pitty that there is just one dealer ( sales+ service centre) in Dubai. That limits the A.S.S. and thus resulting in low sales.

It would be very nice if Skoda launches a 2.0 VGT TDI in the vRS.Mean looks and performance combined with the economy of diesel and decent amount of space at the rear will be the primary deal breakers for Indians.Also they must price it well.Remember that current vRS has nearly no takers due to the petrol engine and high fuel prices eating out into the vRS's sales and finally a 2 lac premium for the vRS when compared to the more cheaply priced 1.8 TSI is not worth at all.Hope Skoda price it well.

Saw the unmasked octavia tsi in bangalore yesterday. Tried to take a video but it was very shaky as I was driving. There was a blue car as well ahead of the red one but I couldnt catch up with them. It is a 54 MB file. How do I upload it here?
