I am confused. The Octavia vRS in post 1, 33 and post 43 look a mite different. The one in post 1 has the radiator grill crome rimmed, post 33 is fully smoked and post 43 is again crome rimmed and has tame alloy wheels.

The post 33 one is a looker and the most aggressive, esp the wheels. Anyhow i have already decided to have mine looking like number 33 .

On the looks front, I feel it’s a step-up from the current vRS. True to the tradition of VAG performance variants (GTi, vRS etc.), they have gone with a minimalist approach with the exteriors combined with nice sporty interiors.

OOOOh... is the gadget next to the hand brake an adjustable cup holder ? The rear seat arm rest (i read else where) has an adjustable cup holder.
The good parts :The seats, steering wheel and the dashboard (with a peak) look fundu.
The bad parts : they have done away with the Laura's organ type pedals and i don't like the 3 round and protruding climatiser knobs. Also this class of car should have a button start, has that been missed out on this vRS ?

Got a chance to throw the vRS around a narrow little track in the Czech countryside

The Octavia looks fantastic with the vRS bits, the slight fold-lines on the bumpers, the low ride-height, and the red line on the rear bumper.

I drove the petrol & the diesel, but didn't get too much seat time.

The petrol was just a damn rocket. Effortless acceleration, good brakes with nice feel too. The DSG box wasn't as quick to notice a desired shift as I'd have liked it to be (especially on the descending hairpin).

The diesel engine sounded great for a deisel, and revved happily. There was a buffeting/resonant sound in the cabin, but it might have been from the winter tyres? The brakes were much worse - but probably because the pads were worn out.

This was a quick fringe benefit of going to Prague for the Superb unveiling

Skoda has nailed it with this generation, adding just the right amount of aggression to the understated design. The Octavia 1.8 TSI+ DSG, with its chassis set-up for ordinary commuting, feels plenty fast as it is. This 2.0l 220 horsepower vRS variant with its electronically adjustable suspension will be an absolute riot! It's a pity that India will never see the 'real' vRS in India.

PS That vRS in the trademark Skoda green is yummy!

The green one is great.Why dont they bring such colors to India too.We see a lot of iterations of yellow and red.People are eagerly waiting for the new Superb too.
