So whats your opinion ? Have they done it ?

So have BMW done justice ? Are they back to elegant lines ? Is their design still confused ? Please give an opinion from your side.

I loved the Bangle designs, except the X3. All these new ones under van Hooydonk aren't something I'm liking much (...well, except for the new 7).

confused design? i never thought BMWs had confused designs. on the contrary i liked 'bangled' designs. of-course i like the classic e48's the best.

now about elegant lines? i hope the BMWs doesn't end up looking like Jaguars(not that Jaguars look bad but that is a Jaguar design). somehow i felt the new 7 series (pics linky on first post) more feline like.

whatever be the design, the headlight eyebrows stand apart everytime (specially in the night), with rounded HID lights staring "feline-ly challenging" at you.

BMW designs are losing their aggression post Bangle IMO.While most designers strive to find originality these days,Bangle went wild with his 'flame surfacing'.Many Bangle design elements were unique and was a shot in the arm for BMW's design philosophy. The current 5(especially at night) still looks the best in the segment.Period.

BMW is really shaping up its product line up

In recent times BMW is getting really back to elegant lines . First it was the 7 series , then it was the Z4 and now with the 2010 BMW 5 Series , things are looking really great for BMW. Considering the engine options starting with 520d which can pull the beast from 0-100 in just 8.1 seconds , all I can say is "Drivers , rejoice . The better part of B M W is back " . Being a BMW fan , am really happy the way things are going .

Great job BMW and thank you god !

? The car was launched last week, or have I missed something?

The new car is supposed to be smaller version of 7series rather than elder sibling to 3.

The new design is more ergo&eco based and more technical than the bangle effect that lay more emphasis on characterization.

I love everything Germans make
