More clear pictures of the Virtus emerge. To debut in early 2018 in the S American markets.
Expect the Virtus to be more premium as it now matches in dimensions to the Jetta.

The rear of the Virtus has glimpses of the Audi A4 sedan. The top-of-the-line model, Highline, also brings chrome accents around the glass and at the bottom of the bumper.

The interior, however, is basically the same of Polo, with a panel with horizontal lines, and the digital instrument cluster of second generation that operates in an integrated manner to the 8-inch multimedia system. This pane is the top-of-the-line version.

VW has no plans to bring the new Polo or Vento to India. It hasn't even started to test the cars in India. The new generation cars will be more expensive to produce and hence they would make little sense given how they have not been able to sell too many at the current price points. In fact the complete silence on the part of VW India makes me believe they will pack up soon and leave Skoda & Audi behind to fight it out in India. Skoda enjoys the position VW desires and Audi is well accepted !

Completely agree on the VW Part. To reaffirm the same currently VW export the Vento's and Polo's to S American markets in huge numbers.
If they have no plans on the new Polo and Virtus then their exports will reduce to nil and will not be viable to sustain the operations in India.

New Polo and Virtus ( T Cross and T ROC too) will be manufactured in the S American countries makes it almost certain they have no interest in the Indian market.

Let us await their final word on this.

This car looks hot. In fact the rear profile especially in navy blue resembles bmw 3 series gt to a great extent.
The car looks premium from all aspects. If they market this car aggressively and charge slight premium (with no cost cutting in any manner) I'm sure we Indians will be ready to shell out a bit more in order to enjoy some exclusivity and attention on road.

Based on the Virtus, Skoda to release the New Rapid.

the automaker is also interested in replacing the Rapid. It too should ride on the MQB A0 platform, and get a new design, but it remains unclear when Skoda might present it.

The Compact SUV ( Creta..etc) rival is expected in 2020 , the Sedan ( in MQB A0 Modified platform ) is planned for 2021, will look like the global Virtus though!

VW Virtus to launch in Jan 2018.

The Volkswagen Virtus will be equipped with 1.6 MSI and 1.0 TSI engines. The 1.6 MSI engine has power of 110 hp at 5,750 rpm and torque of 15.8 kgfm at 4,000 rpm with gasoline. With ethanol in the tank the power is 117 hp at 5,750 rpm r torque from 16.7 kgfm to 4,000 rpm. In this option, the exchange will always be five-speed MT

The Comfortline and Highline options will be marketed exclusively with the 200 TSI engine, always combined with the 6-speed automatic transmission.

The 1.0 TSI engine has power of 116 hp at 5,500 rpm and torque of 20.4 kgfm between 2,000 and 3,500 rpm when fueled with gasoline.

Volkswagen's Virtus is all set to be unveiled this month with a January 2018 launch.

The Virtus is now seen with less camouflage, the front is expected to carry the same design philosophy of the New Polo, the rear will be different .
The interiors too will be similar to the Polo.
Engine options will start with the 1.6 both in MT and AT configuration.

VW Virtus spotted revealing a bit more.

The front and rear remains covered as these are the differentiating areas from the Polo. Rear as seen earlier will have the design of the New Jetta.

Engines speculated are the 1.6 and the 1.0 l exclusively only in the TSI variant.

Variants will be the Comfortline and Highline, but unlike Polo there will no MT version of Virtus in the 1.0 l guise.
