A very nicely executed photoshop sir! Now this looks like a sharper facelift for the Xcent!

Re: South America: Fiat Cronos sedan – Linea replacement teased

In November 2017, Fiat released images of the new Cronos sedan. Now, the company has released a couple of images of the interior of the car.

South America: Fiat Cronos sedan – Linea replacement teased-cronos-interior.jpg

The Cronos is essentially the sedan derivative of the Argo hatchback. The images suggest that both cars share the same interior. The sedan gets a black dashboard that features rectangular air-conditioning vents with chrome bezels at its ends. The centre fascia houses three circular vents and a tablet-like touchscreen infotainment system. The lower part of the centre console is occupied by the automatic climate control module. The USB and Aux-in ports are located at the base of the centre fascia.

The instrument cluster comprises of a twin-dial setup with a large MID in the centre. The door handles are finished in silver and the three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel get silver inserts too. The gear lever has a leather boot with a thin silver border around it.

The Fiat Cronos is expected to be powered by the same engines as the Argo. In the Brazilian market, the car is likely to come with a 1.3-litre petrol engine that develops 100 BHP. The same engine will be available in an ethanol version producing 108 BHP. A 1.8-litre flex-fuel engine is expected to be offered as well. This engine produces 133 BHP while running on petrol and 137 BHP while running on ethanol. Both engines are expected to be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. A 6-speed automatic gearbox is expected to available as an option in the 1.8-litre version.

The Fiat Cronos is expected to replace the Linea in global markets. It is likely to go on sale in South American markets in the first quarter of this year. However, Fiat hasn't revealed any plans to introduce it in India.

Said the exact same thing on the Indian Car Scene thread about Linea replacement. Decent design and looks sharp, but no identity and no flair.

Re: South America: Fiat Cronos sedan – Linea replacement teased

All you wanted to know of FIAT Cronos!

To be launched in Brazil in early Feb. Will come in 2 variants, Drive( shown below) and the top line Precision ( the White car below).
Quote:
The Cronos, being the sedan version of Argo, is based on a platform derived from the Punto / Linea, maintaining with the hatch the same general appearance until the column B, being totally new from there.
The wheelbase remains the same as the hatch, but the elongated rear allows a trunk space of more than 500 liters.

The front and rear differentiates it from the hatchback, with a new design.
In the Drive version, the Fiat Cronos has 15-inch wheels.

Quote:
Fiat Cronos Drive is equipped with the four-cylinder engine 1.3 from 101 hp with gasoline, and 109 hp with ethanol. This engine may be associated with five-speed manual transmission, or automated GSR, also five-speed
Quote:
the steering has power assistance. The suspension is McPherson type at the front, and torsion axle at the rear.
Quote:
the Drive, comes standard with air conditioning, remote opening of the trunk, folding rear seat, power-operated windows, centralized electric door locking, driver's seat with height adjustment
Quote:
There are also electric mirrors, parking sensors, onboard computer, rain sensor and twilight. However, some of these items are optional.
Quote:
The model also comes with a 7-inch multimedia center with screen-mirroring capability, AM / FM radio, USB port, Bluetooth, etc.
Quote:
the top-of-the-line version of Cronos, the Precision, which features 1.8-liter engine and automatic transmission.
Quote:
with larger wheels and chrome trim on the side and a rear bumper with a black diffuser - making it look more sporty
Quote:
the Cronos Precision features fog lights, a chrome trim on the front grille and one on the bottom of the bumper
Quote:
The interior is basically the same as the Argo Precision, but with a predominantly black dιcor. In relation to the Drive, it changes the transmission lever, in this case of the automatic gearbox of six gears AISIN
Quote:
engine is also the same as the Argo Precision and HGT, the E-Torq 1.8 four-cylinder 139 horsepower, of old design - which results in a high consumption, especially when associated with automatic transmission.

The car looks beautiful from the outside but the interiors (especially the plastic quality, seem to be) put me off.

Let me go OT here. In the second last pic, I see the passenger seatbelt inserted into the driver side holder, probably to shut up the reminder. Some creative thinking that is.

Re: South America: Fiat Cronos sedan – Linea replacement teased

Don't like the proportions of this car. Viewed from the side, seems a little dated to me. One thing is clear, you cannot use words like "elegance" and "beauty" with this Cronos. This still holds for the old Linea, even after 8-9 long years.

The only street cred this car manages to get is from a head on front view, as shown in one of the pictures of the black car.

I like the interior though. Seems well equipped and modern. Definitely more room than a Linea.
