Mahindra has come all this way only because of jeeps.

They are only surviving because of their old links with jeep manufacturers.

Whatever guys Way to go INDIA.

Makes me smile

here in the UK the Landrover owners get upset when they are called Ford Owners.
The Mahindra owners find it difficult to keep their vehicles going due to lack of spares.
Mitsubuishi Pajero owners aren't helped by the official dealers (as the Pajero is a "Grey" import").

So if this happens there is going to be a lot of humourous posts on sites over here.

As for my 1975 Mitsubishi J26 - I still can't find parts from anyone other than a guy in Bangkok!
It's almost as bad for the owners of Asia Rocstas

I still remember one jeep ad which Says "Over 70% of the earth is covered by water and Jeep covers the rest". Exactly, Jeep will cover india soon..

I doubt that anyone other than Mahindra would really want jeep.

...

Man, after wasting so much time and money trying to get a mahindra jeep and invader to look like one (keyword here is "trying"), I'd love to buy an actual rubicon in India.

i guess its an alternate philosophy: japanese brands did not look towards big ticket acqusitions to increase and sales and enter foreign markets, but we indians seem to do it
perhaps a complex or lack of a confidence in product and themselves or changing times i.e. blame it on globalisation and the associated rhetoric

Dear Bhpians
I would presonally love to see the Dodge Durango and other dodge models hit the Indian Shores. I had the privelege to drive the Dodge Durango 2005 model and mates I should say that that was the dream drive.

Your first statement is true but your second statement is far from it. Mahindra has many business interests other than making Jeep's. Their tractors, for example, have no Jeep influence. In fact Mahindra has captured almost 10% of American tractor market, the home land of Jeep's, and its only increasing. If they were surviving only because of their links to Jeep, they wouldn't be thinking of buying Jeep (which btw is the only company in Chrysler group that doesn't have to give discounts to move vehicles off showroom floors).
