Don't know why they didn't think about a hybrid Hummer. With aerodynamics similar to a brick, there is not much you can do to this vehicle.
You could use carbon fibre and make it a niche vehicle with 50% less weight that nobody would buy for the price.

Even if it were to be electric vehicle, it wouldn't elicit buyers for its efficiency. Only cheap American gas carried it so far.

H1 was very close to original army vehicle.
H2 is based on Tahoe.

No wonder, Camry is now very near to take down Ford F-150 as the largest selling vehicle in US.
Suzuki, Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, etc are bound to have the advantage of this oil price rise.

Hope Mr. Tata also grabs Hummer.

Tata, M&M in race for GM's Hummer- Automobiles-Auto-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times

Why would TATA or M&M go for a falling brand?

Can you people believe this? I think it would TATA again who would see this deal through. They are a respected business family especially after so many big M&A in last few years.

What is TATA thinking????

I dont understand what TATA is thinking??? First Jaguar and Land Rover, two brands which are struggling to match their previous sales figures and now Hummer. I think it will be better if they first wait and see if they can turn around Jag and Land Rover.
I think since TATA is not well known in the automotive world yet, they are going the acquisition route and what better icon than the Hummer to achieve that? Personally, I think this is a bad move.

I think Tata have eaten enough and will risk indigestion if they go after this one too. The age of monster trucks is over - there is nothing in this other than the brand name.

They should be concentrating on integration of recent acquisitions and not running after more. However, this is my personal opinion - the guy with the money may feel otherwise.

No please ... dont go for the 'waste' which will sell for a huge amount, but end up selling at discount rates.

Doesn't make sense for Indian manufacturers to go after Hummer. I see no value, they should invest in small efficient, hybrid, electric vehicles of future.

There were reports in Newyork times about GM completely stopping production of Hummer and some other monster trucks.

Taking Hummer in pocket now is completely NO NO!

In today's Business Line, its reported that Tata is the 6th most reputed buiness house in the world at present. As all other mentioned it wouldn't be a wise decission to go for Hummer. Even then if they are going a head then I guess M&M will win the bid this time.

Is Hummer respected for it's off-roading capabilities?
How is it rated w.r.t. say Land Rover Discovery, Mitsu Pajero, etc?

Unless they want to do a Hummer version of the Nano, I don't see how it makes any sense for Tata!

Exactly what would be the USP of the Hummer in India? The road presence? Does it come with an oil refinery as a freebie?
