Re: 81st International Motor Show - Geneva 2011

Is that a tablet (ipad clone?) at the dash in Pixel? That would be cool if it is really a tablet.

Seems like the Diesel Nano (pixel or not) is not very far away if they could release the fuel figures for the diesel engine.

Well, the Volkswagen Bulli sure has the iPad on its dashboard.
But i doubt the Pixel having it. The screen on the Pixel's dash looks more like some other tablet pc, other than iPad. Probably would be the Dell Streak.

Re: 81st International Motor Show - Geneva 2011

Pixel looks stunning - Tata have made us proud again. Hope at least some of the technologies in Pixel would filter down to our desi range of Tata cars - i would love to see a Nano diesel with IVT from Torotrak.

@gshanky / @DNM : Check the "Zero turn" drive video in the tata pixel website - we can clearly read 'Samsung' printed on the tablet.

Bertone B99 Jaguar Concept looks amazing.

Is there a probability that the 1.2 3 cyl diesel engine in Pixels might make it to Indica in the future?

Whoa! Nice set of pictures. Can we have some more pictures of the exotics being displayed there? Also, more pictures of the regular TATA cars that are on display?

Re: 81st International Motor Show - Geneva 2011

Woww... The Pagani H-wire-a (Huayra), Ferrari FF and the bull Aventador takes the cake. Salute to the Italians again.
TG covered the Huayra by Pagani in detail and looks like a sinner, they're out-smarting the veyron GS it seems. The best part is the gear assembly and the center console. The RVM shaped like leaves of carbon fibre are also artisitc. I guess pricing hasnt been announced yet.

More pics of the American cousins (in case they attended)... Nothing from the Aston stable (Virage was there in the initial wallpaper images in this thread) but no pic yet? Although its an older model reincarnated, from the early 90s with a new mixed-fruit flavor. No Alfa as well?

Also liked the 500 by Zagato.

Re: 81st International Motor Show - Geneva 2011

The VW Bulli is very unique. Though the ipad console interface looks odd at first galce (seems like a regualr laptop placed on a stand), but is pretty hep at the end of it. And the design and form is also appealing, as opposed to some of these concepts being repulsive

But I dont know why bench seats are coming up on several concepts these days, as I find them to be not as comfortable as the regular seats

Koenigsegg Agera R - revealed!

Quote:
Swedish super car manufacturer Koenigsegg has unveiled the production version of the Agera and the even more powerful Agera R at the Geneva Motor Show. With the pre-production Agera first revealed as a concept one year ago, it was powered by a 4.7-liter twin-turbo V8.
The production Agera is powered by a Koenigsegg developed, aluminium/carbon fiber, dry sump, 32 valve, 5.0-liter, twin-turbo, V8 engine which produces 940 PS (927 bhp / 691 kW) and 1100 Nm (811 lb-ft) using 95 octane petrol. As a testament to its advanced design, no other production engine in the world, regardless of car type, has the same amount of power potential while achieving an EU cycle CO2 average emissions rating of 310g or fuel consumption of 14.7 liters per 100 km (16 mpg US / 19.2 mpg UK). As a result, the Agera meets all the required emission standards in the world.
Bumping up to the Agera R, the same 5.0-liter V8's fuel system has been re-engineered for the use of E85 biofuel. The result is an astounding 1115 PS (1099 bhp / 820 kW) and 1200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque.
The Agera R on the Koenigsegg show stand (production car #83) is inspired by the legendary Speed Racer theme, as specified by the owner of the car. Another unique feature of this Agera R is the custom carbon fiber roof box co-developed with Swedish roof rack manufacturer, Thule.
The transmission, co-developed by Koenigsegg and Cima, is the world's first 7-speed dual clutch system for a single input shaft gearbox. It uses both dry and wet clutch systems. The result is a very sporty, smooth and extremely fast shift. Compared to a traditional DCT systems, this gearbox is lighter, smaller, has less moving parts and gives a more distinct shift feel, with almost no interruption to the acceleration.
