Customs ‘bungle’ hits fuming Schumi

A customs bungle dented Michael Schumacher's Indian GP hopes on Saturday after vital tyre-checking equipment was held up by Indian border officials. The fuming seven-time champion missed out on the top-10 shoot-out by just 18 thousands of a second after suffering tyre vibrations and will start halfway down the field in 12th position on Sunday. Mercedes team principal Ross Brawn revealed they were unable to run a final check on Schumacher's tyres before qualifying because some of their equipment had been held up at Indian customs.

This should not have happened. Hope they will pull out an ace.

Cheers!

Re: 2011 Formula 1 Airtel Grand Prix Of India

Wow - a stormer of a lap to clinch pole by Sebastian Vettel.

Some of the facts that hit me looking at the lap times

The first three runners are separated by 0.07 seconds or 70 milliseconds. The first four are separated by 0.15 seconds or 150 milliseconds. Puts into perspective the level at which these guys operate.

A hats off to the organisers and constructors of the Indian GP. There are teething problems and small incidents but on the whole a show that showcases our real capability after the CWG debacle.

Bravo India!!
Drive on!!

Should be Star Sports. 3PM onwards. If not then ESPN. I don't know why but their schedule is not very clear.

Guess who has hijacked BBC Martin Brundle's grid walk, Gulshan Grover!!! The guy looks so desperate and attention hungry, Brundle was trying to escape and interview some real celebrities and drivers. But Gulshan had his own ideas, he even ended up singing and dancing 'Chamak Challo'

Hamilton and Massa make love again, hopefully Lewis doesn't get his umpteenth penalty again. Thats a racing incident, isn't it?!

Update: Nope, its Massa who gets a drive thru!!

Re: 2011 Formula 1 Airtel Grand Prix Of India

Vettel, Button and Alonso in that order. Alguersari 8th, Sutil 9th and Perez tenth. SFI are ten points ahead of Sauber and Toro Rosso
Renault remains too far ahead for SFI to overtake them. Sutil has a chance to break into Drivers top ten, he needs 5 points more to overtake Heidfeld. But Alguersari is in hot pursuit just 4 points behind.
