Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Force India's Bob Fernley has denied that the F1 team is in "crisis" and on the verge of "collapse".

http://www.planet-f1.com/driver/3213...a-deny-crisis-

If there is no trouble then why are they not announcing the driver lineup? Strange!

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

So here's some interesting news. Glock is out of Marussia. I, for one, never expected this.

Quote:
Marussia have parted company with driver Timo Glock by mutual consent. The 30-year-old German, who had raced for the Banbury-based team since their debut season in 2010, will leave the squad with immediate effect.

“Timo has made a very significant contribution to our team over the past three seasons, helping us to develop our package to the point where, for a large proportion of the 2012 season, we were holding 10th place in the constructors’ championship,” said John Booth, Marussia’s team principal, who hinted that economic considerations were a key reason behind the split.

“Thus far, this philosophy has also been reflected in our commercial model. The ongoing challenges facing the industry mean that we have had to take steps to secure our long-term future. Tough economic conditions prevail and the commercial landscape is difficult for everyone, Formula One teams included.

“We would like to thank Timo for working with us to reach this decision, especially as he had a valid contract, and also for the contribution he has made to our team. We wish him all the best for his future and I would like to congratulate the next team acquiring the services of such a competitive, professional and experienced racer.”

Glock, who competed in 55 Grands Prix for Marussia with a best finish of 12th, was keen to pay tribute to the team.

“I have had three excellent years with the Marussia F1 Team, during which I had the chance to actively participate in building and developing the team in its endeavours to succeed within the Formula One world championship," he said.

Paddy Lowe on his way to Mercedes and after Wolff's news, all chances of Brawn's return to Ferrari rumor is slowly becoming a reality.

I hope he could replace Stephano!

Now, thats one agrument you can't fault with.
Ferrari is going to be faster than yast year, but it seems mclrn has improved the most. So again its going to be between bulls and mclrn for the car, and bulls VS Alonso for driver.
Any way shortly we'll see Slight change in Nose design for Ferrari, and Different Suspension mounts Rear(Change to Chassis). Although Apart from nose and Underfloor changes, Ferrari might not make there Chassis changes public, if that isnt a requirement for the Rules.
It seems everyone is putting in more effort (money) for 2014, rather than 2013. Going to be heck of a season.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

I support Fernando for drivers championship this season. Hope he comes out on top and not lose out by a thin margin, which we saw in the past couple of years.
Apart from a very mediocre car, Ferrari bungled on strategies a few times in 2012. They have to get their act together quick if they are to win any championship.

In case Lowe decides to go to Mercedes ( or shall we call it Team Force Austria considering Wolff and Lauda ), then does McL have anyone to step into the position ?
Ron Dennis will do everything to stop Lowe going.

I did see one article which says Christian Horner visited Ferrari HQ some time back. That is interesting. How many folks eying Stephano's job ?

Not a single car has been launched, but there seems to be big traction with the support staff transitions

Is this season a silly season for team personnel and not for the drivers ??

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

It was EJ who tweeted about Lowe's move to Mercedes and also the exit of Brawn & Fry from Mercedes. Its bizzare, but EJ was spot on with his prediction about Hamilton and Wolff! I also read about Mercedes waiting to announce this news at a DTM launch event on the 25th of Jan!

Ferrari has been after the RedBull resources for a long time now, Horner's news is no surprise as there were rumors about some important resource coming to Ferrari, even Alonso hinted at some big name joining the team this year. I am waiting to hear Brawn's name to be announced by the Ferrari team. Ferrari needs someone more aggressive than Stephano, he is a good loser and nothing more!

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Would be great to have a proper racing circuit in place of the stupid street circuits

Algarve would be a great place for F!

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Dude, the car in the picture and video is the 2012 Renault

They released 2 different renderings of the car, there is another car that shows off the DDRS but with the exhaust layout similar to 2012 car.
