2013 F1 - Santander British Grand Prix @ Silverstone

A nice track built around a World War II Bomber Station. It did not rain last year. Almost all the races so far has been luke warm and a wee bit boring, hopefully expecting this race to throw in some excitement.

Thank You Pavan Sir as always!
Good that Alonso is now 2nd albeit quite far from Seb
Read that Massa is confident about Ferrari doing good at Silverstone and I pray for the same..

Expecting an aggressive Raikkonen cuz he and Lotus are definitely not satisfied by their last performance and will go all out to get to the podium or win it.

What is also interesting about Silverstone is that most teams bring large development updates here.. Lotus have their biggest one for the season.

Sadly no rain predicted for sunday! Hope the on track racing is spicy enough.

Those who play Real Racing 3, this track features prominently in bunch of races in four configurations:

Silverstone International,
Silverstone National,
Bridge Grand Prix Circuit
Silverstone Grand Prix

I like how you've put the sponsors name in the title : P.
Yes Looking forward to silverstone one of the best tracks on the journey to brazil.
Here's hoping for a break in Vettels domination, really hoping for a Ferrari/Lotus win here. Else Vettel will just run away like in 2011 : (.

I agree, you can even have parts of the track wet and some others dry. It will be fun to watch drivers like Massa drive .

I really pit Lewis , he loves to drive it on the limit at this track and with Pirelli all you get is controlled racing.

Bide your time and have this season end quickly and eagerly await the next one with your eyes and ears open (the engines sound differently now !!).

My money will be on Seb again.

With "major" upgrades Lotus is supposed to bring in, I guess Kimi Raikkonen will be a tougher proposition than the last race.

Apart from that, I wish something happens with Redbull and championship is open again. Otherwise Sebastian is running away with the title. I mean, he is already more than a retirement away from his closest competitor.

Precisely what I was thinking when I saw the layout of the track. The Huayra is my favorite for this track in-game, it's so nimble unlike the Veyron, perfect for keeping calm and braking late.

@pundits, How will Force India do here ?

Re: 2013 F1 - Santander British Grand Prix @ Silverstone

Raikkonen sounds very optimistic and says that moving to a permanent racing facility with high speed corners will suit the Lotus. Not to forget how kind the lotus is on its tyres and silverstone isnt so much.

Ferrari reckon high speed corners and cooler temperatures will suit their car.

RBR are keeping quiet. Mercedes probably know they have pole position locked up. Its going to be an exciting couple of weekends with the nurburgring GP also happening the following weekend.

Here's hoping that Ferrari can eat into some of RBR's lead in the drivers and constructors. Forecast says heavy cloud cover on friday with rain on saturday and a part sunny/cloudy day on sunday.

Pirelli will be bringing the hard tyre prototype compound and will be used by all teams on friday. The same compound was used during friday practise at Barcelona. The aim is to add more durability to the existing Hard compount tyre. Pirelli expects this weekends race to be a 3 or 4 stopper.

Red Bull is still the quickest on outright pace. So they will start as favourites.
The tires actually remain unchanged in compound and therefore durability,as the teams did not unanimously agree to change, so they'v tried a new bonding process to prevent delamination.

They originally wanted to introduce a new Kevlar belt i think.

The Bulls are very strong here. Can Webber do it? I certainly hope so. UK is his second home.

Pavan, the track layout has been changed from 2012 after the renovation. This is the current layout of Silverstone

Re: 2013 F1 - Santander British Grand Prix @ Silverstone

What are peoples opinions on Force Indias performance this track?
I think 5-8 for a good race barring incidents. I'm still waiting patiently for FIs Podium this year.
Also, Figured crossed for not another RBR domination. I must say that last performance by Seb was scarily reminiscent of the 2011 Season o.O

Wasnt the kevlar belt solution for all compounds? Pirelli only seemed to mention the hard tyre revised compound for friday practise.

RBR remains the quickest no doubt in overall trim. However, Mercedes are definitely quicker over one lap. Also hoping that quicker tyre wear will eat up RBR and Mercedes in the race and give Ferrari and Lotus a shout for the win.
