Re: Formula 1: The 2018 Spanish Grand Prix

I found the race to be little boring. There was no major action other than the first lap incident. There were about 18 overtakes in the whole race out of which 10 were under DRS. It would been an interesting race had it rained as there was 80% chance of rain.

Here are the highlights.

Re: Formula 1: The 2018 Spanish Grand Prix

Found this stunning piece of footage for the upcoming Monaco GP. Enjoy. Not only are the pictures sumptuous, but the sounds are too. It's amazing how laid back safety was back then, the kerbs are pretty much as is and there are folks just stood mere metres away from it all. We've come a long way since. Also with the pencil thin tyres and cigar like cars you could easily go into what we now consider the cramped corners of say Tabac 3 abreast. How amazing would it be if they did one off narrow bodies for the street circuits like Indycar does (to an extent, insofar as there road course vs oval configs).

Found this interesting video on the communication within the Mercedes team and how it won the Azerbaijan GP. Worth a watch.

What a snooze fest of a race this one was! I had recorded it on DVR and I found myself wishing that the telecast had commercial breaks so that I could skip through them, and the race. Full points to the commentators in making it sound as if there was a lot more action going on!

Re: Formula 1: The 2018 Spanish Grand Prix

The circuit hosted a post race testing session as part of the mid-season testing schedules that were announced earlier this year.

Max Verstappen led the times yesterday.

Interesting video about the Mclaren nose deployed in the Spanish Grand Prix.
