The same can be said in 2007. Kimi's title in 2007 was sheer luck in Chinese GP or Hamilton lost first title in his rookie season as he was unlucky.

Hamilton lost his first title in his rookie season not due to blind luck but because he was a rookie and a few “what if’s” if you want to call it that. No teacher like experience and today he would not make such a mistake.

Kimi won the title because of his year long consistency, by simply being there to pick up the pieces.

Cheers

Hamilton went into last race in Brazil 2007 with 4 points advantages over Kimi. "Unfortunately" Hamiton suffered a gearbox issue and finished only 7. Kimi won the championship . Is the gearbox issue was a rookie mistake or Kimi's luck ?

Dear anb, please read the earlier article I sent in it’s entirety. If the Chinese GP pitstop fiasco/Hamilton’s mistake would not have happened, Hamilton would have been on the podium and he could have become World Champion in 2007. Kimi won the title by just one point eventually, don’t forget that.

It actually was Hamilton’s mistake at the Chinese GP (no points/DNF) which cost him the title eventually, not only what happened in Brazil. You could say Hamilton’s mistake at the Chinese GP was Kimi’s destiny to become WC for Ferrari.

Cheers

No. The author of the article is biased.Brazil GP was the last race of the season, not China. Hamiton had 4 points advantages over Kimi. If there was no gearbox maltfunction is Hamiton's car in Brazil GP, he would have been the chamption easily.Due to Kimi's sheer luck, Hamiton's McLaren's gearbox maltfucntioned and both Kimi and Hamiton ended up with 110 points..

This is as fruitful as discussing which makes a better ice cream flavour : Chocolate or Vanilla.

Only leading to diminishing the abilities/accomplishments of both greats.
