Re: Formula 1 | STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2021 | Jeddah Corniche Circuit | 03 - 05 December, 2021

As far as I am concerned, this race just showed who doesn’t deserve the title. Max’s antics were mediocre, if it were to be described in the maximum positive manner. His own team said, at one of those Max incidents, ‘you did not have to do that’.

Lewis, awesome driving, but even better handling of pressure. Mature dude! Cheers to him!

Phew! What a race or I should say roller coaster ride it was. Huge fan of Max but he certainly did many mistakes and didn't deserve win. However, couldn't understand why Max had to give back position 2nd time when it was clearly fault of Lewis or communication!

Felt gutted for Ocon. Would have been pleasure seeing him on Podium. Terribly they broadcast Hamilton cruising to finish line instead of Ocon-Bottas battle.

All in all, We are extremely blessed to witness and follow this season!

I’ll call it dirty racing tonight
It’s not just one team but both of them (Redbull and Mercedes)
Lewis delaying the second start is one of the reason why we saw not so great launch by Max and Max on the other hand cracked under pressure and started playing dirty.
I felt bad for Perez, he had to work out for RBR for the constructors trophy but now it’s a far sight.

Phew, what a race this was. The race looked like it's going to be shortened given the number of red flags, VSC and incidents this had. Really tough luck for Perez at the beginning and Ocon in the end. So much drama from all three podium guys and if they are ever going to be investigated. What a finale it's going to be at Abu Dhabi!

Another exciting race right from start to finish.
The on track drama between Max and Lewis suitably matched off track antics of Horner and Wolff this time around.

Lewis came out better and will etch himself as the better of the two. Max didn't have the pace of Lewis and his on track behaviour did not fit that of a world champion.

One race to go with both of them on equal points, cannot miss it for the world.

Another brilliant race by Ocon, deserved a podium but snatched away in the final drag to the finish line by Bottas

Anyway, this season is getting crazier by each race, hoping to see more drama in the final race
Max was on medium tyres and towards the end they gave up. Else he could have tried for the fastest lap

If there was an example of a "talented idiot", then Max Verstappen would be it! As Lewis said, "that guy's crazy" and absolutely not in a good way!

The mediums were giving up, but it was actually the 5 second penalty that precluded any attempt at fastest lap. A pitstop to take on the softs would have put him in 3rd for sure.

Re: Formula 1 | STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2021 | Jeddah Corniche Circuit | 03 - 05 December, 2021

Wow! What a race man. And each restart was adding to the drama. Mad Max need to stop playing dirty. With his talent he is well poised to hold many future titles, but the childish and bratish behavior will put off everyone around him and FIA as well.

Fantastic drive by Ham. With a damaged wing, the pace that he kept up was amazing. But that contact with Max was puzzling - why not pull to the side and keep going, rather than straight into Max. Were the previous multiple flag incidents caused the confusion?. Anyway, with Max's tyres expected to detoriate faster around 45th lap, Ham's win was expected, barring any incidents.

It's going to be all the more nail biting in the qualification and the first few laps in the last race.

Re: Formula 1 | STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2021 | Jeddah Corniche Circuit | 03 - 05 December, 2021

Now we know why Rosberg got out of it after beating Lewis Hamilton once. He knew that between Lewis and Toto he would never get another chance.

Max gave it his all. Were some of his tactics border line - maybe. But so are the games that Mercedes is playing. What if Lewis was given a penalty for Silverstone - or for ignoring double waved yellows in free practice? Delaying cars on the grid and so on. The regular sound bytes conveniently put out. Let's put the whole context in place. We should not forget the ruthless racer who backed his teammate into the rival teams in a desperate bit to claim the title. Max tried all the games in the book just like Mercedes. They are millionaire drivers not saints. Well deserved driver of the day for harrying Mercedes till the death in what is a second best package by a quite a margin. Heck, this is what we want to see. A toe to toe slug fest by two of the best drivers in the world. As Max told his team "at least i tried". Hell yeah!!

Gutted for Ocon and the Alpine team!

Toto Wolff makes Eccelstone look like a pussy cat!

Drive on,
Shibu.

Wow what a race And what a drive by the 7-time world champion. Lewis knew when he had to back out from a fight, and when to attack. And that is exactly what made the difference.

As far as Max is concerned, he simply cracked under pressure. The qualifying shunt was an example of him pushing to much, and all his antics during the race further showed the lack of maturity.

No matter who wins the championship, this is a season that we will remember for a very long time.

I'm going to laugh next time either Red Bull or Mercedes moan about fair play. They're all willing to do whatever they can get away with, no exceptions.

Fans, well let's just say it's pointless to pick an argument with anyone willing to listen to out-of-sync delayed radio messages, selectively broadcast, with no attached context in an incident-strewn race, and come away thinking they know exactly what was meant.

One of the many reasons being off social media is a good thing.

Re: Formula 1 | STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2021 | Jeddah Corniche Circuit | 03 - 05 December, 2021

For me the most hilarious part was the bargaining game before the red flag restart.

Some gamesmanship being displayed by both teams, eventually building up the pressure on Max.

The race control could have handled some of the incidents a little better. Why did Max have to give the place to Lewis and also get 5-second penalty.

Hard to see Lewis not winning the championship now, it’s a straight fight and he is more likely to come out on top under pressure.

Jeddah you delivered much more than I expected, although you may be evaluated for the safety concerns but a great first race regardless.

The result pretty much every F1 enthusiast wanted going into the final race. Not gonna talk about who raced dirtier but man, they can make Schumacher look like a saint!

Re: Formula 1 | STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2021 | Jeddah Corniche Circuit | 03 - 05 December, 2021

Max definitely brake tested Hamilton when asked to give the place back. No racer immediately gives the place back, they moan and groan for a few corners and then give the place back. This has always been the trend, sometimes teams have to remind the driver he has to give the place back. Max decides to give the place back immediately/instantly when the team tells him, that too when Hamilton is almost upon him for a overtake, unbelievable.

On the straight Max suddenly drops speed, he actually dropped a couple of gears (could hear the gears dropping) when he knew Hamilton would be upon him for the overtake. The plan was to have Hamilton slam bang into the back of him, taking both of them out of the race. Advantage Max, going into the last race with an eight point advantage. Max took the dirty tactics to another level today.

We have seen lots of gamesmanship, tactics, dirty or not in the past with teams and drivers, however this race clearly shows Max as the dirty tactics champion. He is a very talented driver but not deserving of the world champion title at all.

Cheers
