Read somewhere that F1 TV Pro is increased to Rs. 3999 compared to Rs. 2499 last year.
Just checked the subscription fees for F1 TV & it is the same 2499 like last year.

Re: FanCode to stream F1 races in India; watch a race for Rs 49

Just checked the F1 TV Pro and Fancode. Here's the updated costing
  • F1 TV Pro : ₹ 2615 or US$ 29.99
  • F1 TV Access ₹ 1745 or US$ 19.99
  • Fancode: Rs 699 / Year

I used Fancode for the entire last season and I found it to be a good VFM. The resolution was good Full HD, I was getting Sky Commentators, less Advts and generally reliably transmission. I could watch replay later and you get short as well as extended Highlights (15-25mins duration) for each race. My previous Pass runs out by 28-Feb and I am going to renew the Fancode Pass soon

Re: FanCode to stream F1 races in India; watch a race for Rs 49

I also got the Fancode 699/Yr package as soon as it popped up in notification today. As I am planning to resume following MotoGP, I was almost in half mind to take the MotoGP + F1 bundle but I wasn't too sure how good is the MotoGP coverage on FanCode

Another thing, a negative, for Fancode is the delay in availability of the race/qualifying replay. For e.g. for races held in the North/South American continent, I usually conk off early on Sunday and wake up the next day and before I check any social media for results, I prefer watching the replay as if watching it live. Last year, I observed on Fancode, the replay sometimes comes after 4-5 hours or even more which was not the case with F1TV. Not an issue but then makes my morning grumpy. Maybe they will improve the availability this year. Fingers crossed - for the upcoming season, as well as FanCode.

Also the name FanCode - maybe it's just me or just the way it sounds - they should have used some other name for the app.

There was some issue last year of logging in with email ID, and not being allowed to link your phone number. Can anyone who has renewed/bought fresh confirm if they have managed to do so only with their phone numbers?

Re: FanCode to stream F1 races in India; watch a race for Rs 49

Quotting myself. Last year I took a subscription directly from Fancode.

The subscription via Prime Video is available this year also for Rs. 599 for first year. Its a no brainer for me to switch, since Fancode does not have an app for WebOs (LG TV) and was relying on browser to view the stream. Had anyone tried it via Prime subscription and how is the streaming quality.?

Subscribed for fancode today on the app, got F1 season pass, there was a "new user" pass available. So got the F1 season pass for Rs. 559.
When I watched pre-season testing replay, saw an ad. Overall quality on phone is ok, F1 app had better quality.

Just figured out there is an option in Fancode under user profile called 'activate TV' to link to a android TV. Not sure if this was there already. Yet to check how good the quality is. The app needs to be installed on the TV first.

This has been there for a while now. I have been using the fancode app on my fire tv stick. I have the unlimited stream pass, costed me 1499 for one year. However, the fire tv app is very buggy and shuts down intermittently. Did not find any update on the app as well in last 2-3 months. Hope this gets sorted soon, hopefully before the first race.

I have the same problem, as Fancode does not have an app for LG TV.

Have you tried through Prime Video? Does it work on LG TV? I did it last year and it did not work that way. Can you share how you can watch through Fancode from Prime Video

Thanks

Fancode app is available for LG tv. I installed it yesterday and used the activate TV option to activate and view the practice session.

Re: FanCode to stream F1 races in India; watch a race for Rs 49

I'm using F1 TV Pro because it can be shared across multiple people especially across geos. I have a group of 4 friends interested in F1 and 2 of them are in US. So we all share F1 TV pro at almost the same cost as fancode subscription. Additionally we get the features of F1 TV pro like per driver camera, multiple commentary options (but we always stick to Sky )
