Undoubtedly the best race of the season so far. Kimi was fantastic today but it just goes to that nowadays the race isnt over till you cross the finish line. Sheer rotten luck after having lead for the whole race. Hammy seems to have some goodluck. And yes 8 very important points for Massa and Ferrari. All these will prove vital in the end. Hoping for a better race for Ferrari at Monza.
NEWS JUST IN
Hamilton has been stripped of his Spa victory

Good luck or otherwise, Hamilton won the race and that's what matters in the end.
IMO, Kimi needs to show more control and driving maturity expected of a World Champion. He's been completely out of sorts, driving very well only in patches. Massa's been more consistent and will be Hamilton's challenger for the rest of the season.
Yeah hamilton was really stripped off his first place and now he is placed in 3rd... I just feel really bad for him and it was very clear that he let Kimi to take the lead and then only he overtook .. even the commentary had mentioned that ..
Kimi 's driving in wet was not at all upto the mark see even Massa held up !!

Massa gets the victory now after Hamilton was stripped and I guess is 2 points away from Hammy. Heidfeld gets 2nd.
Just asking you people one opinion will ferrari put all their money on Massa for the championship !!
Hamilton leads by 2 points.
I really feel bad for Hamilton. He truly deserved the top place on the podium..

I think it is clear that the move was illegal. He took a short cut at the chicane and did not back off completely. You just can not just pull back to the slipstream and overtake immediately. Similar incident happened in Suzuka 05 where Alonso was forced to give the place back to Klien after couple of laps to avoid penalty

More than feeling sorry for Hamilton, I laughing at the stewards' unbelievably silly reason for which he's stripped.
Silent Engine : I agree he slipstreamed but didn't he give the place to kimi ? had he kept on his place let them then impose the penalty (the finn didn't capitalize things went spinning you should accept that kimi is worse when it rains remember him slaming into the back of Adrian sutil of Force India when it rained) . I felt Hamilton deserved that win, he was clearly better in wet than Kimi (ofcourse Heidfeld is better than both)
Even kimi took the advantage of the outer track escape in the hairpin and it did serve him the purpose of providing him the required traction thus he gained time on Massa on the first lap, he did the same again when he and Hamiton were fighting in the last lap
No, its not just about giving the place back. The point is did Hamilton gain an unfair advantage by short cutting the chicane? Answer is Yes. Actually he gained even more advantage by being in the slipstream. So the move is illegal in my view. The penalty may seem harsh, but usually there will be drive through penalties for these.
You can't compare this to first lap incidents where the risk of contact is high. The run off areas outside exist to avoid any unnecessary accidents, and by going there you are not going to get any advantage as it has less grip compared to the track
How did Hamilton gain any advantage over anyone who finished? What kind of sport penalises you for skill?
