Fantastic and Franatic in the last couple of laps.
I am here to argue if Hamilton deserved this extreme penalty, but he did gain an advantage and he has accepted that at the post-race conference.

He said that he wanted Kimi to pass, but was accelerating as Kimi was about to overtake him and managed to get pass him. Now someone tell me if this is legal!

Refer to the post-race conference on crash dot net.

There is no doubt that Kimi is a brilliant driver. But he certainly has had rotten luck on his side. He was superb at Mclaren and was head to head with Schumi in the 2003 season. He would have easily won the 2005 championship instead of Alonso. The Mclaren was fast but not reliable. I'm sure we all remember the last lap failure of Kimi's suspension on the Mclaren at Europe 05'. Though the stewards decision is not understood for Lewis, as a spectator it has just made the finale to the season all the more gripping. This one now is a Massa v/s Hammy. The last races should be a cracker.

Though this may sound a bit too far fetched, but, a 19 point gap between Kimi and Hamil in the championship battle, 5 races to go, 50 points up for grabs, and hopefully a very very charged up and angry Kimi.

IMO, this championship is far from over. Will we see Kimi pulling out an ace from his sleeves like last year? Well, lets just wait & watch.

Any which ways, Kimi has silenced his critics by showing that he still has what it takes to be World champion, and can win races if he wants to, provided Lady luck stands by him.

Ooopsey, I actually meant "not" to argue stupid:
Passed the edit time, hence the post.

Come what may of the appeal, I am extremely unhappy with the way Kimi lost it in the last but one lap. After having maintained an advantage all through the race, he looses like a school boy under pressure. So much for the rain master! what a waste. :Frustrati

BTW loved the way STRs drove around yesterday.

As far as most websites goes the rule is simply to let him pass ! and Lewis did allow him to pass and then he too raced. I am wondering why couldn't Kimi accelerate from that time ? Was he busy looking at the mirrors ? why did he give up the inside line ?

I am hearing rumors about Alonso linked with BMW, what happened to Honda ?

Even I am upset over Kimi's loss, he deserved to win after leading the race for 42 laps!
I would blame the Car and tyres for his loss, he was struggling to keep the Car in control in that wet conditions!

But, I am sure he would bounce back hard in the next 5 races!

@finney,
Agree the conditions were treacherous but most of the racers were able to hang-on!

Hamilton went inside the williams and Kimi outside, I dont think there was any nudge from the Williams but Kimi just couldnt do it, he had the advantage with Hamilton on the grass and lost it literally.

If he was struggling more than Hamilton he could have atleast cruised to second place!

Plain pathetic.

Ads, yes. And Star Sports has way too many ads during a race these days.

I thought it was just me at first. But yes, it doesn't help matters when they go off for a commercial break every 5 minutes. But then, we do not have a choice do we?

Here's a nice comparison vid between a F1 (Kimi) and a DTM (Mika) around the Spa circuit.

Even compared to a proper race car, the F1's performance is just phenomenal.

PS : Dtm is on the older circuit with the original bus stop chicane but even so, till that point the F1 is ahead by a mile.

Gripping and a blockbuster HIT is what i call yesterday's RACE.

Hamilton deserved for what he did and Kimi deserved for what he could'nt do.

I feel luck was a bit harsh on KIMI this time.

I really wish him lots of luck for the next races.

Check this out guys, Massa is the new winner of the race. Hamilton has been demoted to 3rd place by the race stewards.

Here are the final laps, you be the judge....

Yes Shan2nu, we know, its being discussed from post 2792 onwards:)

Damn, i even started a new thread. LOL

I feel its a bit too hard on Hamilton.

He did actually handover the spot to Kimmi before overtaking him on the straight's!

The stewards have been a bit unfair this time round! I mean what was Hamilton supposed to do! Slow down to a stand still and then started once again?

Although I am a Massa/Ferrari supporter but this is very unfair!

Cheers

This is no way to run a championship. You cant overturn decisions AFTER a race, especially for that case where argueably Hamilton did try to eke out an advantage - but isnt that what racing is all about? You play by the rules, but you stretch them to your advantage.

Whats the point of a bunch of nice guys going round and round a circuit in formation, following all rules to the T? This is not a sport for Mr. Nice Guys.

I would have been happy to see Massa win, but NOT IN THIS MANNER.
