Hamilton's Mclaren was losing its rear end quite frequently and it was also suffering a hell of understeer which was evident from the videos of FP1.

Lets see if he is going to get his setup right!

Williams top the time sheets at the end of the first practice session! Kimi is third. The rest of the field is half a second behind.

Brawn GP's Barrichello is fourth.

Simplu unbelievable ! Brawn does a one-two with Button on pole(finally gets a good machine, the poor chap) with Massa down in 7th and the McLaren boys waayyyy back. Astounding start to the season even though Brawn GP are racing under appeal. Just goes to show the value of Schumi's team (Ross Brawn was the principal architect behind Ferrari during Schumi's tenure there and earlier at Benetton as well). If the start is anything to go by this could turn out to be one of the best and most closely fought championships in the recent past

Edit : Just love to see so many young guns in the fray like Robert Kubica and Nico Rosberg. Just hope Nick Heidfeld gets a good car soon!

Guys,

We've decided to have race specific threads this year (versus a single thread of 900 pages)! Please continue the discussion in the Malaysian GP thread. You may also open new threads for worthy topics (Outcome of KERS etc.).

Thread closed.
