It is not a JWRC drive. It is a WRC drive in a 'Junior' team of Citroen, more like Torro Rosso in F1 which is a Junior RedBull team.

1. Kimi wanted to get into a potentially winning team, viz. McLaren or Mercedes GP, perhaps RBR as well. So other teams are out.
2. Mercedes GP might possibly have a 'national team- national drivers' policy
3. If Kimi wants to return to F1, he should talk and close it in time, so that he approaches F1 2011 without last minute distractions

Anyone here who can provide information on WRC programming details in Indian sports channels - Star Sports/ESPN/Ten Sports/Neo et. al?

Regards

Well, the IceMan would be missed on the grid for 2010!

I only hope that he comes back to F1 after his exciting 1 year sabbatical.

Who is going to partner Rosberg then?

Now that Sauber is confirmed on the grid, Heidfeld would most probably be retained!

Oh I didn't realise that. Well the move makes more sense now. Thanks.

Bingo!! That is what this means. It is also confirmed that Kimi will get the same spec C4 as the champ, Sebastien Loeb. Only reason for not taking Kimi on the factory team is that they did not want to disturb the winning combination of Loeb and the other guy, I forget his name. But I'm betting on Kimi that he may outpace Loeb in quite a few rallies in his rookie season given the same equipment :)

It's not as easy as it sounds :), Loeb is 6 time champion. But Kimi may have some chance in tarmac rounds of WRC.

@issigonis
I have seen ESPN/Star showing WRC highlights sometimes. But it's no way comparable to F1 broadcasting. WRC is not a TV friendly sport like F1.
It seems if you want to seriously follow WRC, internet is better. Youtube has some tie up with the WRC to provide video streams.

F1live.com suggests that Fissichella might be in the fray for a Sauber seat .

SilentEngine,

Will check out the internet, thank you.

Comparing F1 and WRC is like comparing american football to soccer.
Nobody can be extremely successful in both.
Well, if Kimi proves me wrong...

Actually, Kimi is the first person to actually try both at a competitive level, isn't he? All the others have merely dabbled with the other while maintaining their top status in one. Its a step into the unknown.

Bernie has added fuel to schumi comeback rumor :)

I still think its just a rumor causing off season excitement.

I think Mercedes are actually after Vettle. The Schumacher thing is most likely a smoke screen. Though i do hope Shumi makes a comeback.

Lucas di Grassi is all set to br confirmed as a Virgin -Manor driver.

Jarno Trulli and Heiki kovalneinen to drive for Lotus in 2010.

So, Heikki will be in F1 next season. Great :)

A very good driver and I hope to see some good racing from this Finn.

Trulli, hmm! Another year in F1 :D
