Thanks for sharing the journey. Punto is a very nice underrated car let down by the company and its history.

Really sad to hear about your father and may God give you and the family strength to overcome the loss.

Keep the reports coming.

re: Fiat Grande Punto: 50 months & 90,000 kms. EDIT: Now sold

The story of art in moton

She completed the 25,000 km mark, and it was decided to take her out for a long drive. And then, when pros get in to action, the arts, and the artifacts, culminate together to bring back the art in motion.

Welcome back Sid, Sorry to hear your Dad's demise. Let his Soul Rest in Peace. Life must go on. Even I lost my Dad like you. He was bed ridden partly paralysed right side. One Day he stopped eating food. There was no other indications. We thought since he was in Bed, he did not feel hungry. But his food intake became very low. Fourth day he collapsed. Took him to Hospital. Doctors told he has suffered Stroke for second time. He went to coma. Doctors told that he will never wake up. Removed ventilator support and took him home. Fourth day he passed away on 8th September 2013. Life is like that. Full of Surprises. Full of U Turns, Upside Downs ... But Life goes on.

If i remember correctly, you had brought Jazz. It is still there or you have sold it. Your punto look smashing in red. No amount of photographs will tell its beauty. Looking forward for more updates.

It was sold in 2011 since it was a car for multiple families' duties. Many relatives collectively wanted a comfortable sedan, and it was swapped by a 3 month old pre owned city, V MT as resale value tanked once Honda dropped the prices. The city was also sold few days back since it had done 1,20,000 plus kms. This car was shared between 4 families for ferrying purposes.

Condolences for your dad's sudden demise Sid.

Great review Sid of a great car. I too have the same variant same colour, so same pinch . I agree with your view, I too found the dynamic to be most vfm. For close to 7 lakh on the road (Pune), it had a lot of things which other cars around the same price didn't. A true mix of head and heart.

Cheers!!

Drive Safe.

Wow look who is back, our very own scoop master Sidindica! You was the most missed member on the forum by me and your brilliant threads. Sorry to hear about your Dad's sad demise, may his soul rest in peace and God give your family the strength to fill the unfortunate gap. Asusual your review is upto mark and I would have given seven star had the option been available. Wish you many happy miles on your Italian beauty. Stay happy.

Firstly, RIP your dad.

This is one of the most comprehensive review of the Punto combined with ownership. It is very detailed. I was glad to see it in flesh in October while we were on out GQ drive. I being too tired and being late in the night, I dint get a chance to see its interiors then. The pics you have put up is fantastic and gives a very good insight.

Wishing you many more thousands of happy kilometers

EDIT: Voted 5 *

Wonderfully compiled review

You have well and truly made up for all the time that you didn't post about your Punto. It's one of the most comprehensive ownership reviews that I have read on the forum.

Look forward to reading more such stories.

First of all my condolences to you and your family member. May your dad's soul rest in peace. May god give you and your family the courage to handle sudden loss in your family.

Just one word on your review. Awesome!!! I am in the process of finalizing a diesel hatch and I had written off Punto but your review made me to reconsider my decision one more time. Thanks for the review.

re: Fiat Grande Punto: 50 months & 90,000 kms. EDIT: Now sold

Being in medical profession here is piece of information about Heart attack (or myocardial infarction/ MI) I would like to share with you all.
The typical presentation of heart attack as popularised by Bollywood movies is Dad or mom of the lead role complaining chest pain or discomfort, with his/her rt hand over chest after an emotional news.

Not always in real life

1. Heart attack can present without any pain or chest discomfort

2. It can be mistaken for stomach upset or gastritis, typically presenting as uneasiness in epigastric region (area of lower chest where ribs from both sides meet)

3. Any unexplained pain can be a heart attack unless proven otherwise.

4. An E.C.G. is the simplest cheapest and easily available investigation to diagnose a heart attack

5. Healthy persons in their 20's can get Heart attack.

6. There might not be any precipitating fact such as emotional or physical stress to cause heart attach. People get it in their sleep as well

I am writing all this because i have recently seen two patients collapsing due to misdiagnosis/ lack of information

Case 1: A male in his 40s walks in to the casualty with his teenager son with complaints of gastritis and wanted anatacids to prescribed. The CMO asks for an ECG to be done. He refuses ecg, probably thinking he is being milked unnecessarily, and walks out. 15 mins later he is rushed back by his son in a collapsed state. An ECG reveals MI, but it was too late then.

Case2: A young female is brought to the casualty in an unconscious state with history of low back ache since one day, not relieved by pain killers. An ECG shows she has MI.

Any person 20 years of age or more with unexplained pain anywhere above knee joint should get an ECG done. ECG is the only investigation to differentiate epigastric pain due to gastritis from heart attack.

I know its asking bit too much but those who understand the importance of seat belts and airbags know what i am talking.

This forum might not be the right place to discuss medical issues but i thought its important. Sorry for hijacking the thread
