Cost of OHC Vtec 1.5L Yr 2001 = between 4.25- 4.5L power you get 106 Bhp

Landed Cost of Engine + labour + Miscellaneous components =2L (actual cost to me +- 10K)

Cost of OHC 1.3L Yr 2001 with JDM B16A = 3L + 2L = 5L
Minus cost of 1.3L engine with gearbox which i sold off for 45K = 5L-45K = 4,55000/=

So Net cost to me for
OHC Vtec with B16A = 4,55,000/= with factory gauranted power of 170 Bhp.

now you compare indian Spec Vtec engine the cost & mine car cost with B16 the price difference will be hardly anything between +- 15K, but i have got a solid foundation to start with.

So what ever mods you do on both like suspension/brakes/clutch/turbo etc will be common to both but the output result will be totally different between 1.5Vtec & B16 Dohc vtec.

Rocam

Wow, yes... I think I'll do this as well!

JDM B16A - Can you let me know more about this please & its stock power?

4.5 lacs is a great price for this combination - can you tell me your 0-100 & 1/4 mile figures?

Regards,
Sandeep

Hey... I was considering doing this very thing - buying a 1.3 & then engine transplant, mods, etc. & after your post, the decision is further strenthened in its favour.

I would be greatly obliged if you would let me have a look at your car & perhaps a very small test drive in it.

Can you PM me your tel. nos pls?

Thanks!

Sandeep

.Fantastic review JituBhai, having seen the car personally, experiencing the mind numbing speed and the ear pleasing note, i have a few suggestions, in lighter ,,vien. Was thinking what tag line ud put on the numberplate as a lot of guys do
EG: bad boys from bandra'' etc etc. yours could read ''Muhammed Ali''
coz ur car floats like a butterfly and stings (one who dares to challenge her)
like a bee...or'' Rustom-E-Hind Dara Singh''...but no as one would
wonder after lookin at both, whether its you or your car thats called Dara Singh
Just kiddin bro. might look at an engine swap myself. after all its the
thrill of being involved in the process urself is what thats so satisfying

Hi Jitu,

Apart from the B16A, what other options are available for the OHC?

No H22 pls, it would be an overkill for an OHC, max B18c5 but best bet is JDM B16A or B16B.

@ Deepz I have been running this engine for past 1 1/2 yr

so far reliability is excellent cause it was running stock engine & stock ecu the main reliability test will be after i complete my next stage i.e Boost so far i have rebuild the engine & put standalone & its running fine as of now. will put up when its complete.

@MCL whats up with your signature?
