Mileage things put aside, the Blue Bombardier must be a hoot to drive even now
I know the answer. It is my heavy foot as even on highway drives, I never crossed 17.5kmpl if my memory serves me right

Another important aspect possibly for low FE is keeping the AC on for long times while waiting for the missus to finish shopping

My city driving is also very limited. I drive perhaps 50kms overall in entire week and about 200kms over the weekend. So my weekly running is maximum 250kms in the city

Having said that, every time I get behind the wheel of the Aspire, I just cannot stop the grin on my face

This is the main answer for the FE figures you achieve.

Asking you to achieve 20kmpl will be the worst punishment IMHO. Haha just kidding.

re: Ford Aspire TDCi : My Blue Bombardier, flying low on tarmac. EDIT: Now sold

During my drive to Ooty in December 2017, My high beam had conked off and I got it fixed at a FORD ASC in Ooty who did a temporary solution

They asked me to change the entire wiring harness and bulbs as whoever did that work apparently was shoddy

I never got time to fix that issue. But, last week my low beam conked off and i cannot drive in high beam in the city so decided to fix this issue once for all

Got into an impromptu meet with A4anurag and we met couple of days ago in afternoon. I took over the wheel of Creta while he drove my Aspire

Found an installer and got the Hella Wiring Harness and Phillips 90/100 bulbs

I'm yet to drive in the night so will share a feedback later

Feels good to watch your car from behind as it's such a rare occasion

Getting the job done

Thanks Anurag for coming over and for letting me drive your Creta.

But, honestly driving the Ford after the Hyundai feels such a big relief

Alright, finally got a chance to take the car out last evening and decided to stop in our residential colony which is wooded and dark in some areas

Here are the results

All lights off

Just the parking & fog lamps on

Low-beam

Could you let me know what spec oil this was and where it was sprayed?

My gear shift is making a kind of rubber on rubber scrubbing sound during shifts which is not too loud for now but annoying since the shifts were quite good earlier.

Hey Avinash, it's been a while since you've shared an update here. How's the Blue Bombardier performing.

I think he is out of India for some work. His parents seem to be very happy with the car, though!

Thanks buddy! I keep coming back to this thread from time to time only because how passionately it has been written.

re: Ford Aspire TDCi : My Blue Bombardier, flying low on tarmac. EDIT: Now sold

Update

Blue Bombardier has found a new home and will be handed over on December 1st once I get the complete payment

I had a tough time as 2-buyers were literally chasing me to buy it and kept upping their offers. But, I decided to sell the car to our neighbor's brother who approached us and closed it the same day without her brother (who lives outstation) even seeing it

And, who say's Ford Aspire has a bad resale? I got a fantastic price for my Blue Bombardier

It was a great association and will deeply miss it as it was a brilliant car and will miss it's speed, agility and handling capabilities
