Baleno 75K done and still going strong !!

After 3 years and 6 months affair with the black baleno, i write its 50K report. just got it from service today. the service was also not much.. about 2.3K.

it has been a practical, economical and fun to own the car. The car is still very smooth and almost everyone who has any interests in cars, tells(or advices) me not to sell this car at any cost !!

I am still getting a mileage of 14(mix of highway and city - 30(highway)-70(city) ). highways alone i am getting about 15+.

AC is still the best compared to many cars now. the automatic climate version was release about 6-7 months after i bought. that would have been good.

I have still not taken it on long tours much.. only udupi, goa, ooty, tirupathi, mysore and few places here and there. planning to use it much more once one of my kid comes to travelable stage.

Decided to take this affair to a greater extent by making at least 150K miles on it. I hope it makes it and more too..(too much to ask, eh ?) Also there is no point selling this a paltry amount.

And with the new tbhp stickers, the car is looking more beautiful and new.
once my digi cam usb problem is resolve, will post the pics.

Hey thats great to hear. Two of my friends' Baleno have done over 130k and still going strong. Mine's 2 year old (I bought it in June last year though) with 21k on the odo. Its stock as of now. Planning to get some mods on it as time passes.

Its a keeper for sure.

Congratulations and wishing a long eventful way to go with ur Baleno!

@madhukar_n - good to see that you are enjoying your Baleno. I sold off mine after it completed 50K kilometers, but not for that reason. I came to USA and there was nobody to maintain the car. Otherwise I would not have sold my baleno. It is an awesome car to drive on the highways and the front seats are very comfortable for long long drives.

Its nice to see one more great report card for Baleno.

We too have Baleno and dad now wants a new car, selling off Baleno. I wont let that happen.
No other car in the market right now offers same amount of Space, grace, speed, FE, ride quality, A/C and enjoyment as Baleno once did. Absolutely no car has all these features in the present generation.
This is what I call a legend of an automobile to hit India.

Again I too advice not to sell the car off.

The FE we get doing 105-110 kmph with AC on expresshigway with 4 adults + luggage is around 15-16 kmpl.
City FE is around 10 kmpl.

Waiting for pictures.

Congrats. I have 37000 km on mine now, and the joy I get driving it is irreplaceable. I have this deep sense of satisfaction, and tax advice notwithstanding, plan to keep this for as long as I can. Service from Maruti has been beyond reproach. With Mobil 1 and a concert-hall sound system, the car is a rolling symphony!

my Baleno has done 56k, 2 years of TSD rallying and this year I have decided to do the Raid. My earlier Baleno had done 79k before I sold it and bought this in 03. This has climate control and I thoroughly enjoy driving it.
After all this abuse not a single squeak or rattle. I have changed the clutch twice, periodic maintainence with oil change at every 5k. hope to do 1 lakh kms efore selling

Good to see that.
My baleno is 2 years old and done 20K. It's a pretty decent car with very good responsive engine. Does all service on time and no issue as of now. Done long rides 3 -4 times more than 1,000 Km at a stretch.

Long live Baleno.

Your baleno has climate control in it being a 2003 model? Have you fitted it yourself or is the year you have mentioned incorrect?
