You'll be able to check out the vehicle's service history at the A.S.S. In case you see irregularities (eg. no more servicing after 20k kms, or a 40k service right after a 10k service), you'll understand that the car has been visiting an FNG. However, as far as I'm aware, the A.S.S.' report will be based on the car, so even if the car was maintained elsewhere, they'll tell you how good the car is at the moment, and what major repairs you're looking at in the near future.

To answer your question, I'm not sure. I've always been under the impression that the authorised centre would be the best evaluator. If you can, get the car checked by a trusted mechanic specialising in high-end Germans. Since this is your first foray into the world of luxury cars, I'm assuming you wouldn't have such contacts. Please refer to the Team-BHP directory in that case.

The Team-BHP directory! How could I have missed that! I have a few close friends who own Bimmers. Will speak to them and a get a reference on the same. Thanks, boniver.
