The Benz E class!! 7L discount!

Went yesterday to Autohanger in Mumbai to look at the C class Benz Manual. Found out a couple of things:-

The C class manual apparently is not sold anymore. The C class has no discounts either.

The E class is being sold at a discount of 7 L Each on all Models. Sounds like rather a sweet deal!

That's because the new E is on its way. They need to get rid of the old stock. I'll confirm with mr mariwala tonight and post further details.

The 7 L discount was what the showroom guy told me. Without negotiations etc. I met the BMW showroom guy today. Apparently he says that the discount goes upto 8L. The E class sure seems like a sweet deal.

How exactly does this work? Is it through a bank or you installments directly every month to the dealership/MBIL?

I think it is through a bank MBIL has a tie up with. The down payment will be the insurance, registration, taxes etc. I heard this from a friend today. Its better to clarify with the dealer.

If this scheme is being offered a e280cdi will work out to 70k pm. In a months time im sure the discount will get better.

Ummm seems unreal. A discount of Rs7-8 Lakhs on an E. Now is the 520d still a good buy or has E taken the Value for money proposition?

I was waiting for your mind to go into a frenzy of confusion once again.

Its a tough call....the 5 series is a better car. But the E class is more VFM at this point but at the end your resale value would drop that much more when the new E comes out next year.
The E280CDi is a v6 diesel with massive torque, yet it's 0 to 100 figures are matched at par with the 520d !
Lets put it like this, if I had a budget of looking within the C/3/A4 range then I would jump on the E220 CDi. But between the E280CDi and 520d, i'd probably still stick with the 520d for reasons mentioned above and also a feel good, I wont feel the pinch of envy when the new E is launched soon.

And someone please confirm how much the monthly installment on the E220CDi would work out to under these offers?

Thanked: Once

actually the E280cdi is as fast as the 525td , even though they are giving a 7 lakh discount ,it will make more sense to wait for the new e class

no it's not,it does have the same bhp and infact more torque, but the 525d is half a second quicker to the ton. Both 520d & e280cdi do it in 8.4 seconds.

still 520D

I will still go with the 520D due to it's better reliability and better design.
Sahil and other owner's of 520D do you think the 5 is big to drive casually around in cities?
Also for a 26yr old don't you think an E or 5 will be excessive?I am getting the feeling talking to my friends that a 3 or a C is better suited to my age. What do you guys think?

70k for an E class EMI. For us middle class, that's an unaffordable home loan EMI

I'm 23 and drive a 525d, so i guess that answers you question

Well you get used to the size, I used the Accord before this so I am kind of used to driving bigger cars around the city. So it didn't take me anytime to adjust as both are similar in size.
