@Bravo, like it has been said, remember to not end up in our Weird & Whacky Modifications thread !

Unless tastefully done, it will be hard when you want to sell the Aria. What you find good may not get the same reaction from others. Often, even if one finds a modification to be good, the person may not buy a modified car. A stock car is so much more easier to sell. So please be careful.

Re: Tata Aria Exterior Grilled: DeINDICAization of the Aria

Just a design thought. If you look at the Aria shape we see a downward flowing curvy design, almost like a waterfall onto the front bumper. For such a design any vertical element such as a vertical grill (like a jeep) is a total clash/contrast. The grill needs to be in tune with the flow, so a horizontal grille will be more proportionate (just like the existing one). A mesh grille suits a squarish front end like a Mustang or a Landrover. Since the front end of the Aria is almost like a smiling mouth, the grill had to be in a similar shape (la Indica grill).

Thanks for your inputs Apache. I did some graphic design experiments nothing seems to fit the looks of Aria. Unfortunately my car is facing so many quality issue, to the extent that i am considering disposing it off. I have kept the project aside for now.

@bravo you can go for something like this for your aria if you're still keen on doing it. It's just a suggestion

Re: Tata Aria Exterior Grilled: DeINDICAization of the Aria

I did some minor cosmetic changes in the Aria

Alloys painted to Gun metal

Smoked tints for tail-lamps

Masked grill with logo changed and tinted head lamp

I am really happy with the side profile.
For the rear i guess tata logo must be swapped (I could not find better substitute)
For the front end smoked head lamps will do better justice, and may be a better logo. (Auto transformer logo looks kiddish )

Re: Tata Aria Exterior Grilled: DeINDICAization of the Aria

This looks so much better than how it looked earlier.

Love the gun metal finish on the alloys, sets a real character for your ride!

The grille now looks much more classic without the overly done chrome finishes, neat and simple.

Have you considered removing the sides you've masked permanently and give it a much neater finish?

Overall great job! Looks Hot!

Cheers,
Aayush

Re: Tata Aria Exterior Grilled: DeINDICAization of the Aria

The Aria now looks good. It is nice that you didn't go overboard with the mods. I liked all the mods except the tail lamps. Somehow I have never come to accept smoked tail lamps.

How did you do the alloys? Is it simple grey automotive paint? Or some special kind of paint?

Hope the quality issues you mentioned earlier have been sorted out.

Thanks buddy,
With those Christmas tail lamps it looks like a Indica, and i wanted to get rid of it.
Paint is simple automotive paint, a shade darker than civics OEM grey.
The quality issues continue and its another story. This mod was an attempt to apply some balm to my wounds inflicted by Tata motors

Re: Tata Aria Exterior Grilled: DeINDICAization of the Aria

The Aria looks good now and as the objective goes, its somewhat de-Indica'ed. If you dont mind, I suggest you to use some vinyl and blacken the middle chrome strip and logo area, and leave the other upper amd lower strips as it is. As you have smoked the headlamps, taillamps and some of the grille, I suggest you to try this. If all goes well, you could then get it painted to a black finish which will look premium. If you dont like it, you can anyday strip the vinyl sticker. Just try, vinyl will cpst you less than a hundred.

That Aria looks great! Loved alloys, the side profile looks slick!
And the grill with the Autobots logo is a cool touch! Nice work!
