Re: Remote Engine start system

Is it possible to wire such a system given the immobiliser present in modern cars? As far as my knowledge goes, unless the key with the transponder is present in the key fob, one cant start the car.

Or if this system is capable of bypassing the immobiliser setup? Both ways, personally I will prefer to stay away from such products. A running engine is the best help you can offer to a aspiring vehicle thief

Re: Remote Engine start system

Good Find Dr.Vikas. I used to have this in my Ford Expedition and was very useful in the Middle east to get the engine started and the climate control ac would make sure that you are at ease while entering into the car with outside temperature near to 50deg.Mine was an automatic and the vehicle will have the gear on PARK mode with the hand breaks on. So no confusion on the remote starting bit. With manual gear , one will have to have the gear in neutral and the handbrake on

Re: Remote Engine start system

It would be better if we could find something which comes with a programmable timer. For people who keep their cars parked for several weeks, it would be nice if the car could start and warm itself for 15 mins daily or weekly and then switch off.

Re: Remote Engine start system

Glad to see the inputs with different views here.
Even I think, such a product of course if needed, should be present in the vehicles as a 'company-fit' only & not at all as an aftermarket fittings. A possible warranty issue could be another reason for that. The only thing I was looking for, is the significant 'usefulness' of it and practical 'demand' also! Bye,

What if all the safety check points are cross checked by the system, like gear should be neutral and handbrake on.

Does the indian regulations allow remote car start ?
