SUV Tow Hitch - Where to buy?

Hey Guys ,

I have a 2010 Mitsubishi Montero and a 2013 Pajero , I want to fit a tow hitch so that I can tow a jetski .
I've been trolling the net on various websites that specialise in Tow Bars and hitches , but the problem is the US and EU nomenclature is completely different for e.g the Montero was manufactured for and sold in the US only till 2006 , so Im not very sure if I order a hitch from an International website it will fit my vehicle, does anybody have any ideas.

I need a 2" ball.

Nandan

Just adding Shankar's useful post here if Scorpio owners come looking:

You get also the heavy duty pintle hook which is used by the army jeeps.this heavy duty pintle hook costs about 1200-1300 and can be fitted onto the Bolero by cutting a piece off the rear door step OR removing the step altogether. then it is welded on using a bracket and for added security, bolted onto the rear lateral ladder bar of the chassis. this can even be fitted on to a gypsy or any other such vehicle by making some slight modifications to accommodate the nuts and bolts.

the towing capacity of these is very good - it can tow a regular trailer fully laden with farm produce. OR it can serve as a saviour to smaller vehicles stuck during floods and muddy times.

While on the estates we had these heavy duty pintle hooks fitted on to the jeeps as a matter of course and subsequently, I ve had the old heavy duty hook fitted onto my old Bolero and put it to good use during the floods of 2005.

Now the Scorpio "tail" pintle hook is fitted on my 2WD Scorp with the rear bumper changed. So far its proved to be a useful accessory to deter potential "tail sniffer indicas" etc. Heres a pic for you to see;

DIY : Towing a motorcycle behind my Scorpio for mountain vacations

Here’s another DIY that I have been planning for a while. Thought I would get Team-BHP’s suggestions as to how best tackle the same.

I enjoy pushing off to the mountains every month or two for short 4 to 5 day vacations. The destinations are usually 300-400 kms from Delhi (we are lucky to have the Himalayas in our background ). Invariably once I land up there, I miss having my bike to ride on. I have a 2WD Mahindra Scorpio for my outstation trips and I also own a Thunderbird 500. It’s generally me , my wife and 5 year old son who take on these fun trips.

Small chores and sometimes just having the pleasure of riding on mountain roads, I feel necessitate the need for having a bike handy. Also finding parking for the scorpio and negotiating the buggy on the narrow roads on a daily basis is a waste of time and a source of unnecessary tension. To overcome this problem I am contemplating building or buying a trailer, a hitch, a rear stand or a motorcycle dolly.

I would appreciate the members views/comments and feedback on what option would work best for my kind of an arrangement.

Here are some interesting links and options that I have come across while doing my research for the same.
