I finally opted for 3t reverse parking sensors which costed me 3300.
I am not getting a camera installed for the time being.
Perhaps at a later date I will get the stock audio system changed and get one that has the provision for a bluetoorh attachment, GPS unit and the reverse parking camera. Does anyone have such a unit in mind? If so what is the approximate cost?
I am on the lookout for a parking sensor and came across this. Is it okay to order it? Will any shop do the fitment here?
Speed Wav Parking Sensor
We got the reverse parking sensor installed on our Scala. I thought that the ideal solution is to have both the sensor and camera. I was more inclined on the sensor model. So I thought of getting the sesnor installed right away and maybe the camera can wait and later I will get the camera installed while using the same screen.
But it would had been a costly mistake. My reverse parking system consists of the following main components.
Sensors (4 in my case)
Camera
Connecting wires
Rear view mirror
Control Unit
The control unit is different for different models. I put on the reverse gear both the camera and the sensors are activated. Secondly the if I had gone for only sensor or only camera approach there would had been a requirement for another display. As the sensor control unit control unit will not have input for camera and vice versa.
The whole unit (with installation) is for 12,000/- and is by RD.
The screen that I got installed also offers bluetooth handsfree. Has USB and SD card slots and has a remote and remote joystick (haven't used it and don't have much idea about it) for playing games. It also has a FM transmitter to route its audio to car radio.
Yesterday evening, I went to purchase a parking sensor set for my new Swift ZDi that is being delivered today. I ended up buying the autocop parkpro (rear view mirror display type) with sensors, camera AND bluetooth. It's a new product in the market and has a year or warranty. The mrp was 8950, but I got it for 6100. Seems VFM and has a year of autocop support.

I am looking for one for my FIGO. Can you please post some pictures, can help me in deciding :thumbs up
Fiat ASC quoted Rs.10,500/- for Reverse Cam & Sensors, so got a quote from Lalbaugh Road yesterday and decided to get them fit in my Linea there.
1) Its the unit with the Camera & sensor display on the IRVM. They quoted 5K, settled at 4.7K. Its not branded, but they claimed 1 year warranty. I doubt they honour any warranties. Still took some 'kaccha' bill (W/o VAT #).
2) They spliced the reverse light wiring for power supply. I stopped them but eventually agreed coz my '09 car was out of warranty anyway.
3) They tried to pass off the Black & White video on the display as a 'Normal Thing'! And how they argue! I was like, "Lets just ask the other shops..." and they shut up. After 3 hrs it turned out the Earthing on the male Yellow video cable was causing the issue, if fixed loosely then it displayed in colour.
Grounding in the car is fine, my guess is all this was coz they didn't take power directly from the battery.
4) They took 3.5 hrs for a an hours(max) Job!
The 16 yr old kid working there wanted to make a call at 7pm. The owner spanked his back and told him to go back to work. &^%&*$#@. I let him call his mum from my phone (in front of the owner).
Their overall work ethic was abysmal, they acted clueless when I asked them to connect the setup directly to the battery, it MUST be possible (can anyone throw light more on this?). Trying to pass off black&white video on the mirror-display was absolutely nonsensical!!
I'm guessing others there are no better. So, no names.
Mods/Someone : I seriously feel you'll should come up with a detailed pictorial article on how parking sensors are fixed including an explanation of how its done without cutting/splicing stock wiring. Else, IMO we're reduced to a group that pointlessly gossips on this.
Question : (FASC) 10,500/- V/s (regular) 4,700/-
Why are ASC's so expensive??? If they offered a similar non-branded option at ~30% higher price, I'd have been happy to give it to them. We'd not lose our warranty, they have the right tools (Painting the sensors), they'll easily be able to do it properly, + there are no kids working there.
Hi folks!
Was searching for a reverse parking camera based thread, and found this one.
So posting my query here, instead of creating a new one.
I wanted to replace the ageing Pioneer HU in my Optra with something better.
But a few days ago, I thought of getting reverse parking sensors and camera installed as well.
Now, the dilema I am facing is this. Can a HU(2DIN) be integrated with a reverse parking system?
As in, are there any 2 DIN HU's available in the market that do not cost an arm and a leg, and provide integrated reverse park assist with camera?
Please let me know if this is even possible. My budget for the whole deal should be within 25k.
I'm not looking to update the speakers in the car, or add additional devices.
Just looking for a HU with USB/iPod support that can integrate with reverse parking sensors & camera, and that does not require installing an additional screen on top of the dashboard.
Thanks in advance fellas. Cheers! :thumbs up

I dont think there is any HU that will integrate with Reversing sensors. however, most, if not all, 2DIN AV units will integrate with the camera.

Thanks for the response Mayank.
Pardon my ignorance on this matter, but what does this mean? 2DIN AV units? Is that a stand-alone system which I have to install over another HU?
Thanks!

Oh, missed this.
I meant double din video units, you know, the ones with video in the display, typically touchscreen. Like the avh from pioneer, xav from Sony etc.

At the end of it, VW may raise concerns and refuse to honour your Vento's Electrical Warranty if something related or even unrelated goes bust! VW is very finicky about all these things, atleast from what I've heard in Delhi!
I am looking for a reverse parking sensors/camera for my Fiesta in Hyderabad (around Madhapur). Can someone please guide me to the right place?
After a rather close shave while reversing my newly acquired Scorp - I have decided to get either a sensor/cam system installed. Inquired about the rates and every shop owner seems to be recommending both! A sensor+cam combo. Neither is advising to go for only one. Is getting just one, not recommended? I am more keen on getting a cam.
Quotes range from 6000 to about 8500. Brands I saw - Minda/Xenos/Worldtech etc.
All the models have a display integrated into the IRVM - which will sit on top of the existing IRVM.
I was browsing through similar products on ebay/aliexpress. The ones on aliexpress are almost half the price the shopkeepers quoted me! Even if I have to pay for the installation, it will still work out cheaper than the options shown to me.
I am thinking of taking a risk with aliexpress this time, what do you guys suggest?
