Are Car Stickers Prohibited In India ?

HI FRIENDS,
I hope you all have seen the 100 horses sticker on the verna. In my city the police fined the dealer 3000 rs for the sticker on the car and they informed that the dealer had to get special permission for the sticker. So what can be the fate of a person putting on the stickers available after market .Can anyone tell me whether we got such a rule in india.
PS:the dealer removed the sticker after that .

Looks more like a case of greasing than anything else to me...

Coupla questions:
1. Was the sticker on the number plate?
2. Did the dealer actually pay, & if so, did he get a receipt?
3. If he got a receipt, what did the receipt say?

Absolutely crazy. Never ever heard of it. In such a hyper sensitive city like Delhi where there is a red alert even if a pin drops I have not heard of anyone being stopped or penalised for putting stickers.

On the contrary I've a sticker on my bonnet of my Safari and at pickets the khakis have an amused look on their face when they see it..

I don't believe that the Cochin Khakis just pulled you over coz your car had a KA regn. Surely they have gone out of their mind to do this.. Kerala I presume is KL and Karnataka is KA. Couldn't they see the diff between a KL regn and a KA regn.

And on top of it they call their state - 'God's own country'

well...it was like this...there was a hold up in the traffic on account of some accident and there were cops around diverting traffic etc. we were a bunch of friends blasting music and waiting for things to clear up. so a cop casually walks up, checks our number plate and starts asking us questions, papers etc. everything was a-ok so he just let us go. thank god it was sometime in the morning and we had not started binging beers yet

Well actually the thullas in the "khakis" cant challan you... Its only the "rin safedi" guys that can!!!
P.S.- I dont think the cops can challan cars with stickers... Otherwise all the "test drive cars", would keep putting a hole in the dealers' pockets... They are covered with all sorta stickers..

I think those guys needed some money to celebrate Diwali..
If stickers were fined no car company would give them....
But if stickers are really banned then........
Next I think they will fine for the paint colours...alloy design...and what not..

Loads of thoughts on the sticker things from my last experience I somehow will not be too surprised if it existed... But law is wierd... Once I got a ticket in Chandigarh for smoking while I was driving.... Which I lated confirmed from authorities that it was a pan India law...

Any sticker on the number plate is banned apart from that I dont think there is any issue with any form of stickering.
