Hi All,
Please suggest me a good sounding Hi-Tone horn for my Swift mainly to use when driving in hi ways..
Thanks !
well you can go in for the Hella red Grills or the ones that come OE with Skoda cars...
The hella is Shrill and means business.... The Skoda ones sound good and classy..
Godfather
the skoda ones come by the name of roots.
Try Fiamm, they make nice horns.
The skoda/Optra horn is by roots. the range is called roots windtone horn. they are priced at Rs.320 here.
You can also try the Lancer Sfxi horn from bosch but these are expensive and difficult to come by.
I had fitted roots(horns) on my car but they didnt work that well and there is no warranty...so i went ahead and got an indian branded horn with 6mths warranty by the name of ANMOL horns...sounds exacty like the skoda and optra horns...you could get them at milan subway at shreenath motors..priced at 500.
Hey,
I agree with Godfather have been using Hella Red Grills on all my cars since over 15 years. Its a bit difficult getting the original stuff nowadays but the best part is they mean business and are repairable. I think they cost Rs1150/- a pair and come with a Hella relay included.

Wow..all that noise pollution @ such a cheap rate :(
Why do you need a hi-tone horn for the highways in the first place!!
I feel this sort of indiscriminate noise pollution shouldn\'t be encouraged in T-BHP.
I just upgraded the normal Minda Horns in my XETA to Mico BOSCH Symphony Series, These are the same ones that are installed in the OEM of Lancer and Skoda.
My Lancer has Roots, since when I changed the OEM horns 2 years back, I could not manage to find Boch.
They costed me Rs.380/- With 6 months Warranty. Are well under the legal prescribed Sound Limit.

Hey wolfinstein those were the same horns that were initially on my lancer SFXi. they sound awesome. Really low frequency horn and not ear paining loud.
I had to change them as they stopped working after submerged in water. I couldnt find the same one anywhere here and had to go in for the Roots windtone.
same here, When my Lancer gave up on the horns, I also could not find them so I went in for Roots which was equally good..! But When I chose to upgrade the Horn on the XETA, I found them..! :)

Hi,
For starters to get the uneducated illeterate fools who stick to the right lane to move. The right lane is for overtaking and slow moving traffic to stick to the left. Am sure you would feel frustated at having to brake because of some idiot driving slow int he fast lane with a empty road ahead unless you recommend zig zag driving.

Perfect!! so now we have TWO illiterate uneducated fools irritating each other and other road users to death..
Do you really feel an imbecile will give you right of way, just because the decibel level is higher?
Practically yes and theoritically no.
But i think that hi tone horn is necessary now days.
You will see most companies now days provide you with 2 horns in the car one is Hi tone and other is low tone.
