This was a project from Torque Studios (Delhi).

They have made some good cars. It is being run by a guy who did his car design course from Coventry.

Yikes A guy who did car design produced that Thar ?? Does not speak too well for his school !! Maybe it is a one off that went horribly wrong. Maybe he would think twice before making such creative innovations in the future.

The final designs which come out of production, a designer cannot be solely blamed for. There are thousands of people involved including customers (customer survey / market survey), team of designers, management, production, service infact every one from start to end user of the product. .

And Coventry is a reputed institute as a matter of fact.

i agree that some customers are demanding and sometimes go against the ideas given by the designer...but here we find the designer justifying and defending the outcome.

May be he had to bow down to the customer's request.
But yes he could have made some subtle changes rather than going too creative.

Very well said.

Coventry is a reputed institute. Some great designs can be seen made by the students.

Check out this Bajaj Activa. Thats correct, no mistake here, found this last week, an Activa with Bajaj scooter front seat. Looks like the owner of the Activa was very nostagic about the seat of his old ride and plonked it in his new one!

Yes! Looks similar.

But how would this help. May be the rider is tall and finds the original seat too low. :P

Can someone guess the donor car?! Looks like the headlights and the front grill were borrowed from a Merc C class!

re: Pics of weird & wacky mod jobs in India!

Saw this picture of an Audi Q7 on the Chennai Traffic Police Site, its a pity these days money doesn't buy you some brains/taste ! I have seen more such Imports sporting some cheap mods here in Chennai, worst being a Range Rover Vogue with Huge Bull Bars in the front and lots of chrome !!

It has been posted earlier in this thread. An old Merc has been modded to look like a new C.

The activa seat modification has been done probably because the fellow must be having a bad back and the chetak seat with its added spring gives him that added comfort with better shock absorption.
