Nope. The KLT regn gave in. There was no Mark4 then. Take a look at the rear bumper it is mark4. (Though one rubber gyard is missing)

Saw this Maruti Suzuki Zen Adventure crossover earlier this week. Actually, come to think of it, even crossovers don't have the spare wheel mounted on the boot-lid! Bleh!

It was a very pleasent sunday morning today, I got up and after breakfast I wanted to fix Numberplates for my 800 5 speed.
As I was passing by Versova I saw this poor DUKKAR Fiat being worked upon by a road side guy fixing its doors. After seeing these photos our beloved lovers of FIATS, specially Dukkar wil be to its owner.

1. Its major portions are hand painted and the car was smelling of Asian Apcolite paint even at a quite a distance it is the paint which we use to paint our wooden doors and windows.

2. Spray painted portions were painted in hurry and was overlapping the second shade.

3. Tyres were also painted along and were not cleaned up after the painting project was over.

4. Steering wheel was of Premier Padmini.

5. Side indicater Lights of Maruti 1000.

6. Centre light on the body coloured grill was fixed by brown cello tape.

7.Front parking lights and side indicater light were protected by mesh wire net which is used to protect our homes against peigens and crows it was cut to different sizes to cover them up and fixed by metal screws.

8.The portions below the front parling lights grills were not painted as the painting brush could not be reached that portion.

9. It had BODY COLOURED BUMPERS and broken bumper guards.

10.Apart from 2 shades on the car Taxi Yellow eeeeeek. and Parrot green
we can see Black on the Ambassador Mark 4 Head light rings. One of the head light glass is broken.

11. Wheel covers from Wagon R.

12. To open the bonnet a lower arm suspension bush of Ambassador car is used as a GRIP.

13. Rear taillights are from Maruti Omini, again with mesh wire protection,
it looks like he does lot of OFF ROAD driving. and wants to protect the lights.

14. The painter was in so much hurry he did not even remove NIMBU MIRCHI hanged on saturday on the front grill. and painted it along .

The KLT in that nearabout is 1967, the next regn KLV started in late 68 or early 69. It is Mark II my friend and not mark I.

Mark II debuted in 1962. In this case the tail lamps is not markII, Mark II had duel glasses, one amber and one red.

BTB we are getting off track from the thread.

That's atrocious. How can you do something like this? And it has a 'PRESS' card on it's windscreen.

I have no idea as to why the owner did this to this beautiful car.

rajeev is right. the tail lamp of a Mark II has two round cups - one amber (smaller) and the other one red (bigger). we had a 1972 model Mark II which was later converted to Mark IV.

among the stuff i've collected over many years, i think i've the owners manual of a Mark II Ambassador somewhere. not sure though.

You're right. On closer inspection, me too felt so. It doesn't belong to a journo. The PRESS sticker is just for the heck of it. With the incessant rains, it now looked clean, and closer looks would reveal the rust marks at almost all joints. The pig snout especially.
