Swift Sport Bumper

Somebody drove into my front bumper today so instead of replacing it with the stock bumper I was thinking of getting a Swift Sport bumper.

Rio designs in Mumbai said they can make one for me, but the fabrication cost will be above 30,000

The stock bumper is 4400 (bumper + painting)

Any idea if I could get a Swift Sport bumper from anywhere in India at a decent price. Perhaps somebody imports them? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Why are they asking for fabrication charge? Fabrication charge is only applicable if they are going to make a bumper out of steel. And anyways even if they do make a steel bumper it is only going to serve its purpose as a mould for moulding fiber glass bumpers. So tell them no way in hell are you going to pay fabrication charge because once they make the mould I'm sure you're not the only one they are going to sell that design to.

I'd be interested in getting the front bumper of the swift sport too. Let me know if you find a way to get it done.

Also, take a look at this site: main

It's a Malaysian outfit (They have a Singapore address as well).

You're correct Vikram... Fabrication charges apply because they will first make a steel mould from which they will cast the fibreglass bumper.

Maybe if a bunch of us wanted the same bumper we could split the cost of fabrication? Anyway.. I'm still looking for other sources, and any suggestions from TBHP members...

Doesnt shipment charge usually depend on weight though? There might be economies of scale for someone who imports a bunch of them and then sells locally.

Rio Designs is taking you for a ride. Nobody here in Bangalore charges anything for the fabrication of the mould. They absorb it as a development cost as they can reuse that mould for any number of people.

You could also consider getting one from NTF Designs. Its a bit similar to the Swift Sport Bumper though IMO looks a lot better

Maruti has got horrible looking ones for the swift. I like the NTF design too but nobody answers the phone numbers given on their web site for their corporate office. Even if Maruti sells these things they will be very expensive

I spoke to NTF designs. They have the add on body kit.. everything together works out to about 25k to 30k. (thats the add ons for the front and read bumper as well as the side skirts).

The NTF original design bumper is not available as yet, and wont be even beyond january.

Anyway, I'm gonna hold out for the Swift Sport bumper.. hopefully somebody will import a bunch of them. In the meantime some guy with a blowtorch and some other tools got my bumper looking as good as new for very little money.. so I'm happy.

khanak,

While those bumpers look well-made, I noticed that they're out of color-sync with the car's body
