For exactly how many days its with you

Had it for almost 2 weeks. It had done 25000kms already when it came. That mileage was on testing.
As a side note, my accent had covered 85000kms in 2.5 years.

Hey friends please dont fight. Today when i calculated the avg it gave me 12.5kmpl 80% of the time i was driving with a/c. And I am planning to Install 15" alloys with 185 tyres (will this effect my avg). So where will i get at the cheapest and good quality in mumbai near andheri area.

but it also depends on your driving style to if you drive like a rally driver then it would be less and if you drive at a steady speed it would be more

my sisters vdi is getting 15 with ac on all the time

i get around 13 in my alto when people are getting 22-23 km/l

mostly it depends on driving my indica diesel gives 16 with a/c where it gives 18-20 with a/c on highway

Thought i will give life to this thread

My swift has done 38k kms and till now the max i got is 19km/pl (Highway)once a trip to pondy where i drove at a average of 60-70kmhr.

The second best was 16-17kmpl,but i hear from lot of people that swift gives 20 and 23 kmpl ,IS it really true?

So My Swift give 16kmpl @ Highway and 13-14 in bumper to bumper traffic

Swift Diesel owners please let the forum know your Max/Highway mileage

I manage to get 12-13 kmpl (city) and 16-17 kmpl (Highway). My car's done 19500 clicks.

For the swift diesel i get around 14 in the city and it went up to 15.5 on the highways not sure if it is due to our driving style
, yes used to drive petrol cars before ANHC, are there any changes to be done to the driving habits? Gurus pl help out here. Some solace is that i see many people post approx the same values here

Hey Ray...thats interesting any driving tips for the diesel engine . I have been a petrol car driver throughout have done approx 3L kilometers so far on the M800, Santro, Hondacity put together - Those magical figures of 18+ kms evade me on the diesel ZDI. Guess its a change in driving style needed any pointers . I eke out pretty decent mileage with my petrols though

Bobbyvictor,I dont use any special technique for increasing mileage.Just normal driving. But I am quick in reaching the 5 th gear and use the gear shifting properly.I dont allow the car to lug in gears.I dont keep my left leg on the clutch pedal.The figure of 19.5 is mixed driving in city and highway with full time A/C.When my wife also uses the car along with me, the mileage comes down to 18Km/L.My driving speed in Kerala highway is 70 -80 Kmph with occational bursts to 100+ when adrenalin raises.In city I dont remain in any convoy unless it is a trafic block, then I remain in the lane.I try to obey the traffic rules as far as possible.Also I do check my tyre inflation every week or whenever I visit the pump.Car is well maintained.

I live in Trivandrum, traffic signals are less. Mileage I calculate from full tank to full tank irrespective of city driving or highway.Few of my friends are also getting 18 to 19 Km/L.
Your mileage may be little less because of Bangalore traffic conditions.

I get 16.6-16.8 on full ac, it has been consistent.(based on riding conditions in bangalore)

I agree with george,
1) drive with linear torque output
2) drive in proper gear ratios
3) Avoid half-clutch driving( this is a challenge in city, cannot be avoided)
4) Avoid unnecessary revs
5) maintain engine health,Battery health and tyre pressure

I regularly get 18-19kmpl on my drive from Mulund to my office at Worli everyday. The road is a mix of 40% Highway and 60% city roads. (The odo reads at 72k today)

I drive
a) Max speed 100kmph
b) Average speed: 34.66kmph to and 26kmph fro (Time taken 45minutes to and 60 minutes fro; distance 52kms to & fro)
c) Sedate driving most of the time except sudden bursts of overtaking
d) AC on full time

The best mileage that i got was when my car was just 2 months old and i had been to Goa from Mumbai with a 4 heavy passengers and luggage loaded to the brim.

I got 22.97kmpl :-)
