Reminds me of a joke..
Gr8guzzler, after running his hands in Ishan's pants for a few minutes: "Ishan KA pakadna mushkil hi nahin, na-mumkin hai". lol:
Su vaat chhe Ishaan Bhai, puraana ghar, puraani gaadi, no biwi, fir bhi naye tire. Sahi hai!
I agree LBM. No wonder he has the highest run VTEC around. I sometimes wonder why Ishan doesn't plonk a diesel engine into it.

Ishan, pls store the old parts and whenever you sell the car show them to the buyer that his car is good for another 1,40,000 kms with the new ones.
Great work buddy. Good luck. |
Thanks Kiran but don't think the parts would be necessary, if I sell her that is!!

Diesel, diesel? That's blasphemy Kiran, you know better than that!I love Petrol engines too much, try as I might can't adjust to driving a diesel car. Please don't bring up such unpleasant thoughts again!!!
Update:
Here is the state of the Blower console:
And here is the state of the cooling coil, look at all the dirt that accumulates
in our conditions.
And here is what the components look like after cleaning with a dust removing solution & a high-pressure jet:

Looks like we both have been doing the same thing this weekend. :)
Now for the update, here is the list of parts being replaced/repaired on the car:
Clutch Assembly
Full Suspension revamp
Both front Axles
Front Brake Rotors
A/C Service
Routine Service
Both bumpers respray
Full Interior Drycleaning
HU Service
Redo of the ICE cabling
This is the major part of the list rest I'll update later.
Now I was supposed to get the car on Saturday evening but as luck would have it on Friday morning we discovered that the Pressure plate supplied for the car was different form the original. Evidently, it turns out that the 1.3/1.5 and the VTEC have a slightly different Pressure Plates where the 1.5's plate is flush whereas the VTEC's plate has some dips & ruts.
It didn't hep that the kits are manufactured by multiple manufacturers including TRW, Valeo & Exedy. So after some hunting we finally got the correct part but that delayed us by half the day. As for the actually replacing the clutch it wsa not really needed at this point of time but since we were opening up so much of the car my installer recommended I get it done now since that way we can save on the labour charges and she had done 140k on the original clutch anyways.
So after this episode my installer insisted that I take the car on Monday so that he can finish the work properly, TD her & be satisfied with the work. I agreed since it had already been a few days & a couple of days more wouldn't be so bad and considering the amount of work needed I think he needed the time to complete the car properly. Last thing I wanted to do was rush the garage & face a problem later on, which my installer wouldn't do in any case even if I wanted to!!!
As a sidenote my installer said to me on Saturday morning "Relax at home, enjoy the weekend & pick her up on monday" wise advice most of you would say but I told him my genuine problem which was "How can I enjoy my weekend? My car is not here yet!!!" :p
So I'm looking forward to picking her up tomorrow & will update this thread with more pics & a review of how she drives & a report on the work done.
What I did realise in this period is that miss my trusty Dhanno badly when she's not with me. I had to drive mum's Santro for the past few days & did a outstation trip to pick her up from Haridwar (she was returning from her pilgrimage) and drove 400 kms round trip. It was not only slow & not so good handling but also did not have a CD player (my mother hates listening to any kind of music!!) and the seats are quite bad & gave me a terrible backache on the long-distance trip. I think I should stick to driving my car only unless there is a dire problem!
Rest let's hope for the best & look forward to driving her again tomorrow!!
P.S. Sorry for the extra long post guys!
One question: has the cooling efficiency of the aircon improved after you cleaned up the coil? Or have you not had a chance to make that out yet?

The work is still ON...The dhanno hasn't been delivered to him yet.
Todais the 10th, irags i am sure you have got your car back, so where is the info on the new updates and how is she doing, you just advertised the PP on your Vtec so members can drop in and purchase a few tires from your dealership, you my friend are indeed a tyre dealer :p :p
I think Ishan is in Mumbai... But there is a possibility that he would have taken dhanno to mumbai for a test run after the service lol...
He's down there in your city...
Didn't u meet your tyre dealer personally yesterday during the TBHP meet???
