Turbo for Diesel Lancer ??

Hey Guys,
I have a 8 year old Diesel Lancer with 2,35,000 on the odo
I just love my car and i cannot sell it.I am going for a new Swift VDi and plan to keep the Lancer as a standby car.
What i would like to know is whether i can add a Turbo to the sluggish diesel unit.If yes then how do i go about it.If this is a complex proposition, is a Engine swap recommended ?

Not worth it,man.
I know of one turbo lancer diesel project in Chennai. Frankly, if u need power, get a 87bhp petrol engine. If U want more, get the 175bhp MIVEC which is almost bolt-on.

The point is i want it to be diesel because i do quite a bit of traveling and hence i cant afford petrol.

If at all i plan to get the MIVEC, where can i get it from and what should be the approx price ?

Amey,

Turbocharging a 8 year old car is not worth. If you want performance swap with Mivec 175bhp engine.

FIP tuning is very tough and its tougher to find one person to do it.
Amey, if U want economy, get a petrol lancer engine, get the basic upgrades like filter, FFE and headers .Then, LPG/CNG it.
This is what I would do.

A Used engine must cost around 40ks.
Moreover, Diesel engines are treasured in the used engine business. So, u'll get a good deal on it unless the buyer sees ur odo.

Try to find a genuinely light-used lancer petrol engine that has been lifted off a totalled vehicle or the likes. And make sure they start it for U before U pay for it.Speak to any of the knowledgeable members like 'moralfibre' who arere in Pune.U'll get all the help u need.
