For this reason, I have used the dashcam via the cigarette lighter port. No parking mode is available that way. If you are in a colder climate, you may try using a power bank to power the dashcam when the car is parked. It is suboptimal but better than no footage. You will need to change the settings to avoid overwriting of the footage.

Thanks for the advice. The powerbank idea is nice though, might as well have tried that. The problem is, I am using the 70mai pro plus dual dashcam system and the app won't let me turn on the timelapse or parking monitoring mode unless it detects the hardwire kit
