In-car Camera mounts - Attaching a video camera to the Car

Bumping up an old thread.

I have a Sony HandyCam. Is there any possibility to have it attached securely on the dashboard so that I can record some videos on the go? I would not like to have it attached on the windscreen as my mobile phone sits there for Gmaps. Probably the dashboard is the next best option, something which is a bit elevated, thus giving the HandyCam full coverage of the lens.
