Re: Seat modification for better underthigh support

The car is in Delhi and I am out of Delhi for about 2 weeks. Will post the pics after reaching back. However, be rest assured that the seats look just like how they originally were, only with 3 inches of enhanced bench or extra underthigh area.

Hi, can you please give the reference of the shop? And any other decent alternatives you considered in Delhi?

Hi, sorry for the delayed response. Was out of Delhi over the weekend.

I have attached a pic of the business card of the place where I got the job done. These guys are into manufacturing car seats and also accessories like guards etc.

In case any Delhi guys are reading this, suggest buy your guards, carriers etc from here. You will get it much cheaper than the accessories shops, as its guys like these that manufacture and supply to shops around Delhi.

Disclaimer :- I am in no way associated with Sekhri Industries. Just sharing the info as requested by another BHPian, for the benefit of all.

Edit :- Somehow the pic did not get attached. The address is :-

Sekhri Industries,
B-62/8, Naraina Indl. Area, Phase 2, New Delhi 28.

Not sure. Suggest you call them up. They are very resourceful. I had generally queried them if they could make and fit front facing third row seats on safari, and they had replied in affirmative. So who knows, may be even arm rests. Or probably they could guide you to someone who does.

Re: Seat modification for better underthigh support

I have plans to change entire rear seat of my tiago. I am unsure who is the culprit, it's the seat cover or the seat itself but nevertheless shall pay visit to naraina and share feedback soon

Scross driver seat extending underthigh support

Underthigh support for Scross Driver seat was not adequate for me so got it modified today for better support.

20 gauge steel sheet was used for this purpose.

Metal Sheet Used and thickness.

Cut according to the size and giving it a U shape

Aligning it with the existing frame.

Welding in progress

Welding complete.

End Product.

Total cost was 3800, which was agreed before the work started. But next time it will cost me much less. Reason being the middle man who helped me get the address of the shop has kept 1600 with him and paid 2200 for both the welding guy and upholstery shop.

Initial feeling is good but will get more feedback after a long drive.

Re: Seat modification for better underthigh support

My Chevy Beat lacks under thigh and lumbar support and I also need to increase its height by a 2". Based on feedback on couple of threads, I have zeroed down to get additional cushioning on car seat (similar to what Zaveed did above but by replacing the welding work with pasting of foam like they do in sofas)

However being new in Pune, I am struggling to find a decent car upholstery shop in eastern Pune (Kharadi, Mundhwa, Hadapsar, Kondhwa or even central) will be very helpful.

Re: Seat modification for better underthigh support

Bumping up an old thread - can anyone suggest a good place to get the front seats of my Marazzo fixed? I simply can not find a comfortable position no matter how much i adjust the height or incline and i figured out that it is because of the angle of seat cushion (too high at the front and too deep at the rear).

Looking for suggestions in Pune, if not, even Mumbai.

Re: Seat modification for better underthigh support

Anyone here tried these seat cushions? If yes, please let me know if this works.

I have a 2023 Harrier and no matter what position I keep the seat in, the lower back pains. This one comes with lumbar support as well and is still of no help. I start to move around the seat within 30 mins of sitting on it. My feeling is that the lower back part of the seat is in an angle and hence is causing the issue, but not sure. IF the below cushions work as advertised, I am inclined to give them a try.

Re: Seat modification for better underthigh support

Does anyone have experience with seat base extensions to help with better under thigh support which is plug and play and does not require changes to base frame.

A 2-3 inches addition with firm curved support would be nice but reliable and troublefree quality is a priority.

Found one here - https://www.amazon.in/YQJ-Extender-C...87&sr=8-1&th=1 but not very confidence inspiring.
